Wikileaks has damning info on Bengazi?!
If Julian Assange wants to win the hearts and minds of the far Right Wing, Inquiitr shows us how he'd do it:
Wikileaks Says They Have 1,700 Emails Proving Hillary Clinton Knew About U.S. Military Weapons Shipments To Al Qaeda and ISIS
Wikileaks head Julian Assange says he has proof that Hillary Clinton lied under oath while giving a public testimony following the 2013 Benghazi terrorist attack. Assange says Wikileaks has 1,700 emails proving Clinton’s statements that she was not involved or aware of any sale of weapons to Syrian “rebels” were a lie. In fact, Assange notes that the former Secretary of State was fully aware of the United States’ involvement in arming rebels in Libya in a bid to help them overtake Qaddafi. Ultimately, it is alleged that those same weapons then made their way to the Islamic State in Syria.
snip
The National Review points out that Wikileaks seems to be honing in on statements made by then-Secretary of State Hillary Clinton following the 2013 Benghazi terrorist attack. In a public testimony, Secretary Clinton claimed that she had no knowledge of weapons transfers to Libya, Turkey or Syria in the months leading up to the terrorist attack. Clinton said “I don’t have any information on that” when pressed about her personal knowledge of the weapons transfers.“
It was Senator Rand Paul that asked Clinton the damning question when he pointed out that there were news reports of ships leaving Libya and asked Clinton if she was aware of these transfers. He specifically asked if she or the United States had been involved in "any procuring of weapons, transfer of weapons, buying, selling, anyhow transferring weapons to Turkey out of Libya." In response to the question, Clinton tried to deflect by saying, "nobody has ever raised that with me." However, upon further pressing, Senator Paul asked if Clinton personally knew of any such transfers which she personally denied.
Clinton was under oath for this exchange.
LONG RT INTERVIEW WITH ASSANGE
Let's sum up what we've seen in the past few weeks:
*The FBI, of course, said no biggie about having told something OTHER THAN the truth on her server and emails to them because she didn't have criminal intent (a standard not required by the applicable laws).
*We have not yet heard from Judge Sullivan about whether Clinton will be deposed by Judicial Watch on why she used a personal server, and whom, if anyone, recommended she do so.
*No word yet from IRS about referrals on Clinton Foundation or from FBI on the referral about whether Clinton lied under oath about her email/server during the Bengazi hearing.
*DOS this week said no biggie that there appears to be evidence they hadn't seen before they issued their January 2016 Inspector General report on whether there was an Pay to Play. (Here's the pdf of that report if anyone want to sift through it: https://oig.state.gov/system/files/esp-16-01.pdf). The report begins:
What OIG Found
S/ES is responsible for coordinating searches for FOIA requests
for records held by the Office of the Secretary. When a FOIA
request of that nature is received by the Department, the Office
of Information Programs and Services (IPS) within the Bureau of
Administration notifies S/ES. S/ES reports its findings to IPS,
which then communicates with the FOIA requester.OIG’s past and current work demonstrates that Department
leadership has not played a meaningful role in overseeing or
reviewing the quality of FOIA responses. The searches performed
by S/ES do not consistently meet statutory and regulatory
requirements for completeness and rarely meet requirements for
timeliness. S/ES currently searches Department email accounts
only if a FOIA request mentions emails or asks for “all records,” or
if S/ES is requested to do so during the course of litigation.
However, FOIA and Department guidance require searching email
accounts when relevant records are likely maintained in these
accounts. In addition, although FOIA requires agencies to respond
to requests within 20 working days, some requests involving the
Office of the Secretary have taken more than 500 days to process.
These delays are due, in part, to the Department’s insufficient
provision of personnel to IPS to handle its caseload. These problems are compounded by the fact that S/ES FOIA
responses are sometimes inaccurate. Officials in IPS and attorneys
for the Department identified instances in which S/ES reported that
records did not exist, even though it was later revealed that such
records did exist. Procedural weaknesses in S/ES FOIA processes
appear to be contributing to these deficiencies. For example, S/ES
management is not monitoring search results for accuracy, and IPS
has limited ability to conduct oversight. S/ES also lacks written
policies and procedures for responding to FOIA requests. Finally,
staff in S/ES and other components in the Office of the Secretary
have not taken training offered by IPS to better understand their
FOIA responsibilities.
If there's another IG report, I haven't found it. One can search here: https://oig.state.gov/find-a-report

Honestly, if WikiLeaks has all this information...
What are they waiting for? The sooner this all comes out in the open, the better chance we have of getting a better resolution. If Assange doesn't want Trump or Clinton, the best bet is to try to torpedo while they can still be replaced. If he sits on this hands until they start printing ballots, it may not really matter.
Actually,
the majority of the american public in general, does not pay attention to politics until after labor day.
I believe Assange, like myself, wants to see the total american political system in chaos.
I would enjoy watching it burn to the ground.
Giant Meteor 2016.
Regardless of the path in life I chose, I realize it's always forward, never straight.
Trouble is, we might all burn with it.
We're going to burn
regardless.
What humankind has put into motion climate wise, will only be rectified by the earth cooking us all off.
How sad is it that I wish humans to never leave this blue marble and infest others?
Regardless of the path in life I chose, I realize it's always forward, never straight.
The answer is a question.
Is it better to release material during summer vacation time and the Olympic games or wait until after Labor Day when American's attention slowly begins to shift to the general election?
At this point, both are the nominees of their
respective parties. States held primaries. Parties held conventions. I don't know if the DNC rules include a provision for the death or disability or refusal to serve of a candidate. If so, I bet it doesn't end up with the head of the party choosing a liberal to run instead of the party's nominee.
More than ever, I am getting why "May you live in interesting times" is a curse, not a blessing.
He might regards them as a type of insurance policy
My Impression
from Assange's previous statement about this is that the emails documenting this have already been released -they are among 1700 emails touching on Libya which are in the searchable file Wikileaks created. The cables previously released may also be pertinent. Someone should be plowing through those Libya emails.

They're waiting for Sweden to drop all charges.
While there may be talk about the US's increased interest in extraditing him, it's all a negotiation.
If assange is able to walk away from the Ecuadorian embassy don't expect any more Hillary leaks. He's not trying to save us from ourselves.
Assange is Libertarian
He probably wants to give as much time as possible to limit the Dem ability to put forth a viable candidate.

I expect that Assange has the e-mails
but I wish he'd get on with it and just release them already. It's sort of a no-brainer that Syrian rebels were being armed via a rat-line from Libya, what we lack is the explicit proof, which of course is very hard to come by. Arming terrorists is about what I'd expect from Madame Secretary.
I've wondered why he didn't release these earlier on, as we sure could have used them this spring. Is he dangling them out there, trying to work a deal?
Even without his e-mails, we've all seen the evidence that ISIS' weapons are made in USA, most particularly the TOW missiles and stingers.
"Obama promised transparency, but Assange is the one who brought it."
If Assange has proof of this, I am sure
we will hear some governsplaining that will do its best to make Hillary appear like America's angel.
I am
beginning to understandunderstanding more and more why Comey's statement about Hillary contained enough information to convict her of, at a minimum, being negligent with classified information, while the other part read like a Harvard educated lawyer going back in time to fail his very first criminal law course. We've apparently come to a point
where the powers that be can commit virtually any crime, and get away with it. Nixon wouldn't have resigned if the same power structures were in place back then.
They seem completely immune.
What's the point in having laws, if they don't apply equally to everyone?

law school, with zero experience--had she failed the Washington D.C. bar by then?--she got a job with the Democratic team prosecuting a Republican President without any of Bill's contacts inside the Democratic Party.

It's a pretty good law school.

I am familiar with her wiki.
I am also familiar with how lawyers get job offers for plum jobs.
A job offer from a law firm is one thing. A job offer from the House Judiciary Committee or Nussbaum or Doar to investigate the President of the US for possible impeachment for only the second time in history is quite another. The US has thousands of law firms. Investigating the President of the United States for the House Judiciary Committee was a one off position that was quite prestigious. Almost any young lawyer in the US would have been honored to have that job, even working for free, if necessary.
Doar and Nussbaum did not go interviewing at law schools, as law firms do, or put an ad in the paper or hire headhunters. I don't know much about Doar, but I'd bet a lot that Nussbaum himself got that job because of his political contacts, even though he was probably very well qualified.
In 1973, Hillary was a female just out of law school who had not distinguished herself academically in law school, who, according to her, had taken an extra year to graduate from law school to be with her boyfriend--an explanation that doesn't even make sense (even if it made sense, insert here an eyeroll from prospective employers in 1973). She d had not even passed the bar yet--perhaps had even already failed it. Her only political contacts of her own, such as they were, were in the Republican Party and Democrats were in charge of hiring to investigate a Republican President.
Why, out of the many thousands of lawyers in the US that year, including thousands of graduates of Ivy League law schools, did the House Judiciary Committee investigating a Republican President of the US for impeachment hire Hillary Rodham, if not because of Bill's political contacts?
BTW, Nussbaum ended up being White House Counsel when Bill was President.
You know much more than I
To those of us not in the know, she is a veritable mystery wrapped in an enigma.

The irony is that we fought a revolution
to be free of multi-tiered justice, among other things.
That's actually my biggest grievance against the current situation, that the law is unequally applied. The death of the rule of law will mark the death of the republic, guaranteed.
"Obama promised transparency, but Assange is the one who brought it."
I don't think that's why we fought a revolution.
I think we fought because rich colonists, like John Hancock, were tired of sending tax dollars to England and to crown appointed colonial Governors, who were helping themselves to a lot of good stuff, like land. Abolition of slavery, as had been happening in Europe, may also have been an issue, even though it did not happen in England for a number of decades after 1776, but I don't know. American history and lore tend to be very rosy about the Founders. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Abolition_of_slavery_timeline (note the 1700 entry) And, of course, the British occupation of Boston was significant.
I don't know of many significant wars that, in reality, resulted from grass roots movements. They tend to be top down affairs, with the "rabble" having to be roused by propaganda, which also then has to dehumanize "the enemy."
There were a lot of reasons
Perhaps the most important were logistics and communications - it would take months for information to criss-cross the Atlantic, and by the time it had made the round trip, the situation had often evolved and the response to what it had formerly been was no longer applicable. (Some people liked it that way nonetheless - including the Tory Rev. Mather Byles of Boston, who was heard to quip that he would rather be ruled by one tyrant 3000 miles away [i.e. in London] than 3000 tyrants not a mile away [presumably referring to the Boston Committees of Correspondence and Safety].)
There really were serious legal issues involved, including whether the British Parliament had any right to impose taxes on British subjects who were not represented in Parliament - as the colonies were not and never had been. (Even in Parliament itself there were fierce discussions over this and related issues, but the pro-taxers won the argument.)
What is often overlooked - and sometimes outright shoved down the memory hole - is that Britain had just won a ruinously expensive war with France, and was desperately trying to increase its revenues any way that it could. The pro-taxers argued, not altogether unreasonably, that since the colonies had been one of the relevant theaters of the war, the colonies ought to pay back some of the costs - including the costs of maintaining a standing army in the colonies (which they did not want, but which Britain felt obliged to insist on because it was politically and economically unpalatable to turn all those men and officers out of work - does this sound familiar?)
There is no justice. There can be no peace.
I think the legal issue was makeweight.
Taxation without representation has a really republican ring to it. It sounds ever so much better than "I'm rich, I do a lot of importing and I don't want to pay taxes."
As far as decisions coming back from England,King George was nuts--though modern theory is that his problem was physical and he recovered after the revolution. Colonial courts and colonial governors were deciding everything their counterparts decide today. I will live my entire life not waiting on a decision from the POTUS or the US Congress to decide my next steps. In fact, I've never even needed a decision from the state Governor, or the state legislature or a state or federal court. Farmers and the like then probably needed to hear from Parliament even less than I need to hear from Congress or the President in order to go about my life.
In any event, I don't think the idea for the Revolutionary War went from the bottom to the top, any more than the idea for World War I did.
Sorry, I'm just a cynic, including about our "vaunted" Founding Fathers.
Most peope *don't* have in-depth knowledge of the period
so they just grab onto some catchy ideas and run with them.
I did some really serious research, some years back, and that gets me rather annoyed at the glib superficial statements that it was "really because this" or "really because that". There was real unrest at the bottom of the ladder, and it was not the monied elite who gave it direction and focus - it was members of the middle-class intelligentsia. Most of the monied elite were perfectly happy with the status quo and wanted the pesky rabble to just shut up and realize how good they had it.
John Hancock may have been annoyed with having to pay extra taxes, but would he ever have done anything about it if Samuel Adams (middle-class, failed businessman) hadn't started, as the Tories claimed, "whispering in his ear"? (Yes, I researched the Tory side too. Both sides had grievances, and both let things get far past the point of being able to settle them amicably.)
As for George III - he was intermittently non compos mentis, but it started after the Revolution (1788), with at least one recovery and relapse, until he lost it for good in 1810. His son, another George, spent ten years as Prince-Regent until he could finally be crowned (as George IV) on his father's death in 1820.
There is no justice. There can be no peace.

Govt. Makes Lousy Witnesses
The US Government has a long and sordid history of covering up crimes. But for people living today, the most relevant crimes being covered up begin with the Kennedy Conspiracy (does ANYONE really believe the Warren Cover-up Commission?) and continue through MLK and RFK, Watergate (there remains much unrevealed even if Nixon was toppled), The Original October Surprise, the Panama Invasion (hundreds if not thousands of civilian deaths hushed up to water down the criminality of the action), Iran-Contra and related crimes, what really happened around Mena, AR, the real reason for the Undeclared Balkans War, The SCOTUS Coup of 2000, 9/11, the co-optation (sic) of Obama, and just about anything Hillary's name is attached to.
I expect that none of these things will ever be truly revealed before Mother Nature has enough of us and finally takes something to end the infestation of us.

WikiLeaks, the group that put out the D.N.C. emails publicly last month, interjected itself into the hacking case again this week when it offered a $20,000 reward for information on the shooting death last month of a former D.N.C. staff member, Seth Rich, outside his Washington home. His killing fueled speculation on the internet that he was somehow tied to the hacked emails, but the police have not given any credence to that speculation.
The WikiLeaks founder, Julian Assange, has made it clear that he would like to hurt Mrs. Clinton’s bid for the White House, opposing her candidacy on policy and personal grounds. He has hinted that he has more material about the presidential campaign that he could release.

Oh, share that link--seriously, it sounds like a real doozy, and probably true. And if it is, that might mean Assange has the actual goods on them.
I think I remember the last time the O administration went behind the scenes "increasing pressure" on a South American country. And wasn't Ecuador the same country where their head of state's plane was forced down by the US when they were trying to find Edward Snowden?
No, that was Bolivia

Assange has wanted a hearing with the Swedes.
Assange’s defense team said it welcomed the development, which it said “comes after six years of complete inaction on the part of the Swedish prosecutor,” the AP reported.
“Until justice rolls down like water and righteousness like a mighty stream.”
Actually
the way I understand it, it's good news Assange is being questioned by the Swedes. The Swedes equivalent of Lynch has been playing this bullshit game of dragging out the bogus charges against him with the hopes he gets extradited to the US before they have to drop them. Assange's lawyers have been demanding this questioning from day one. The media is spinning it like Ecuador and Assange have been keeping it from happening. Here's What We Do
know about Benghazi.... 3 or 4 days before the thumping the Ambasador heard about the expected upcoming thumping by more-than-reliable sources while visiting the French Riviera or some French or Italian Med. hotspot. Those sources said stay clear of Benghazi, or visit at your own risk. That it was very dangerous to visit Benghazi (this week). The Ambasador was not ordered to Benghazi, he went there at his own risk.
If "sources" knew about the planned attack it's likely State knew about it too, but the death of Amb. Stevens, him knowing the particulars, was and is on him. For whatever reason, or none at all, he chose to be at the right place at the wrong time. Strange that.

The first reason is that america is not paying attention yet. If and when we start paying attention, shit may finally roll uphill.

I may have given up on Bernie himself, but I will never give up the idea of burning our current form of politics right to the ground.

I am not sure how not yet paying attention to the general
campaign relates to my comment about releasing damning info about Hillary during the primary campaign, when the choice was between Hillary and Bernie, rather than between Hillary and Trump.
We don't know when he got what (he can't control timing of
when stuff comes to them) and we do not know how much time it takes to process that information and whatever other considerations there are for releasing material. I would suspect he's made things available as quickly as he could.
Of course it's tempting to play armchair quarterback when we feel this info to have created a different result if it came out earlier...
