"Why Can't Hillary Clinton Stop Lying?"

"If Trump becomes president, the world will have Clinton to blame." If you want Ms. Clinton to win - you would agree that the below Atlantic article would be great advice for her. I'm kind of relieved to know that Clinton's lying isn't going to stop, as my goal is to prevent a Clinton presidency. I am convinced that there is no way she will stop lying - It is who she is, unable to take responsibility for what she does, what she says, to always blame others when caught.

On Sunday, the former secretary of state told FOX News’ Chris Wallace that FBI Director James Comey cleared her of misleading the public about her rogue email server at the state department: “Director Comey said my answers were truthful, and what I’ve said is consistent with what I have told the American people, that there were decisions discussed and made to classify retroactively certain of the emails.”

That’s wrong and she knows it, which makes it a lie.

------------------------------

Her dishonesty could push an unknown number of independent and undecided voters into Trump’s camp or toward a non-major-party candidate. If too many swing voters walk away from Clinton because she destroyed her credibility or because they don’t want to condone her behavior, the nuclear codes go to Trump.

That is why Clinton’s advisers, senior Democrats, and members of the liberal media need to stop covering for Clinton. Stop repeating her spin. Stop spreading her lies. Stop enabling her worse angels. It’s too late for Clinton to come clean, but honorable Democrats should at least insist that she stop muddying the water.

Please, for the sake of the country, tell her: Stop lying.

As for the nuclear codes, I would rather neither have them. Ms. Clinton wants to "annihilate" Iran, as she has assured Haim Saban, one of her war hawk billionaire backers.

If you watched Morning Joe this morning and heard Mook's lying, spinning, spreading her lies, covering for her, repeating her spin, concerning her Sunday Fox News Network appearance, then you know that the truth will be...."If Trump becomes president, the world will have Clinton to blame."

So, I disagree with the author Ron Fournier's advice to the Clinton Camp; "Please, for the sake of the country, tell her: Stop lying."

I say to Ms. Clinton, please for the sake of the country, keep lying, make them bigger, better, make them even more preposterous, and certainly, keep blaming everyone else for your bad conduct, your bad judgment. Do it, for the good of the country. Your country needs you to do this, to keep showing us what a disastrous president you would actually be.

However, one of the defining characteristics of a Sociopath is grandiose, BLATANT lies, and then claiming that anybody who doesn't instantly believe you is your enemy.

The worst thing that can happen to a pathological liar is to be busted for telling the lie.

we can check this one..
•Extreme defensiveness. Expect the person to become extremely defensive, doing whatever he or she can to pin blame on someone else.

and this one....
•Vindictive and may seek revenge. Rage and anger may be another reaction stemming from being “outed”, so expect possible retaliation or vindictive behavior.

categorization for HRC.

That was not doubt i mentioned to him in a previous diary and thread, but not understanding the definition.

If I now read your definition of a pathological liar, I feel horrible, because, well, I think I spend some 25 years with one. But then, covered up under not understanding cultural differences, I would say, almost all of that person's tribal folks, could be counted under that category. Many people do make those judgments, especially those from other cultures and in the "political arena".

That then ends up as having made quite some racist generalizing statement. So, I still have difficulties to make judgments of that sort. Though I recognize the symptoms and features very clearly and they are very correct.

And especially because the extreme vindictive response of a pathological liar to being humiliated by someone pointing out the truth, it makes it even more difficult to point it out. So many innocent and non-related people can get hurt as a consequence of such revelations to the public. Sometimes that even causes conflicts over generations. You won't believe it if you haven't seen it.

One can't belittle it. It can be quite horrible and folks who suffered under those vindictive responses (which don't have to come in rage or abusive verbal or even physical ways), are damaged for life and it's very hard to "forget and/or forgive" it.

And apologize if that's how it came across.

I was more thinking of the folks in the media who breathlessly portray all folks who disagree with them as self-absorbed sociopaths without even having read the DSM V, and then in the next breath defend the politicians who behave in an almost textbook manner.

Apologies again if you feel I was singling you out.

There is a lot of breathtaking shouting going on these days. No wonder too, because these times can take your breath away, literally, and make you very angry, confused and disappointed. I have never seen and heard so many unusual things. So, outrageous reactions are also to be expected.

That would be a good link to share. I know the corporate media have lost track of the fact that any unprovoked attack on Iran would be illegal, but if she said that it would be a big deal. And the term "annihilate" implies dropping the Big One.

"We've done the impossible, and that makes us mighty."

sorry, she said obliterate, not "annihilate" - been a while since I read the New Yorker interview with Haim Saban...

It is a very long interview with Saban and very informative, well worth reading.

http://www.newyorker.com/magazine/2010/05/10/the-influencer

"Hillary said, ‘We will obliterate them.’ We . . . will . . . obliterate . . . them. "

According to Saban, in June, 2008, after the primary battles finally ended, Barack Obama called and asked for his help. “I said to him, Let me coördinate a meeting between you and some of the people who supported Hillary through me. We have a few things we need to clarify.”

For example, Saban continued, “Obama was asked the same question Hillary was asked—‘If Iran nukes Israel, what would be your reaction?’ Hillary said, ‘We will obliterate them.’ We . . . will . . . obliterate . . . them. Four words, it’s simple to understand.

Given the context, a nuclear first strike by Iran against Israel, a promise of obliteration in response doesn't seem all that radical to me. I expect most US politicians would say as much and probably the leaders of the other major nuclear powers as well. The use of nuclear weapons by small nuclear states needs to be deterred or else there will be a global nuclear arms race and nuclear brush wars every where.

I think it's reaching a bit to try to base a case against control with this. There is plenty of rock solid facts to use: use them.

up

I think, would have been, if there is a nuclear accident which we can plausibly blame on Iran, giving you cover, what would be your response? I venture to say that that was understood by all participants.

Iran has, and had in 2008, no intention of attacking Israel. Iran's real rival in the ME is Saudi Arabia, and Israel helps keep the KSA more or less contained.

Notice Mme. C's over the top, bloodthirsty, response. One of aspect of American diplomacy in the ME is, or ought to be, the convincing of various parties to not attempt nuclear strikes on their neighbors.

Here is the link to Hillary Clinton's statement in 2008 that if she were President, she could obliterate Iran. This statement along with her on camera reaction to the horrific killing of Qadaffi were what made me realize just how sadistic a person she is.

Democratic presidential candidate Hillary Clinton warned Tehran on Tuesday that if she were president, the United States could "totally obliterate" Iran in retaliation for a nuclear strike against Israel.

this sociopathy. I could not understand why so many people in power seem to lie even when they do not have to. It was not until I began my series on neo-liberalism that I started to understand it. It has to do with meritocracy. Neopliberals seem themselves as a chosen group based upon their education and social status. That gives them a pass for everything else. The Clintons are the epitome of neo-liberalism and its myth of meritocracy.

and the "win" it for the sake of winning kind of attitudes. It's everywhere, competition, there is nothing that doesn't get turned into a competition and therefore as a consequence every kind of status achievements are based on meritocracy. How much social injustice does it cause, when so many people on purpose are not even given the chance to compete fairly. The whole system is very inhumane. Even cooking has become a war-fare like competition on TV.

up
0 users have voted.

TV must use cheap tricks like that to hold our interest. Competition, but also fake controversy, "technical events" (camera cuts, zoom in/out, "time-lapse" speed-up, CGI, etc.), laugh tracks and canned applause to make one think something is funny or laudable even when it's NOT.

It is an inherently boring media. You engage your senses more fully, just walking in nature, or down a busy street, or talking face-to-face. There was a study done many years ago, that STRANGELY, wasn't given much airtime. It showed that across demographics, and completely unrelated to content, people found TV interesting in direct proportion to the number of technical events in the program. It is the single most important factor in making TV interesting. One cannot expect good content from TV, ever. -And now that it is colonizing the Net, of course the Net is dumbing down.

I would urge anybody to read Jerry Mander's "Four Arguments for the Elimination of Television", as well as Marshal McLuhan's writings on Media. We can see their observations and predictions writ large in the present day.

In the 80s, I gave up TV. Got rid of mine. But now that the networks have invaded the Net, I think I need some sort of content filter that will just kill anything from the major networks; even re-posts. They are taking the ultimate "Cool" medium (the Net), and trying to make it "Hot", to use McLuhan's terminology. From egalitarian, interactive and cooperative, to authoritarian, passive and adversarial. Even if we don't love a screaming argument, we apes are easily distracted by one. It's why trolls on the Net are so disruptive. I wish I knew of a good counter to trolls, but short of websites instituting editorial review (which would be nigh-impossible), I'm not sure that there is one. -Other than community vigilance, and outing them.

So, anyway, yeah, TV i.e. the Major Networks, will always try to set that Screaming Apes hook. Best not to even give them the opening.

Girl and the Snake

A young girl walking along a mountain path to her grandmother's house heard a rustle at her feet. Looking down, she saw a snake, but before she could react, the snake spoke to her.

"I am about to die," he said. "It's too cold for me up here, and I am freezing. There is no food in these mountains, and I am starving. Please put me under your coat and take me with you."

"No," the girl replied. "I know your kind. You are a rattlesnake. And if I pick you up, you will bite me and your bite is poisonous."

"No, no," the snake said. "If you help me, you will be my best friend. I will treat you differently."

The young girl sat down on a rock for a moment to rest and think things over. She looked at the beautiful markings on the snake and she had to admit he was the most beautiful snake she had ever seen.

Suddenly, she said, "I believe you. I will save you. All living things deserve to be treated with kindness."

She then reached over, put the snake gently under her coat and continued toward her grandmother's house.

Within a moment, she felt a sharp pain in her side. The snake had bitten her!

"How could you do this to me?" she cried. "You promised that you would not bite me, and I trusted you!"

"You knew what I was when you picked me up," he hissed as he slithered away.

They're not looking in the same direction. It's what's known as strabismus.

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Strabismus

There are indications that children with strabismus, particularly those with exotropia (an outward turn), are more likely to develop a mental health disorder than normal-sighted children. Researchers have theorized that esotropia (an inward turn) was not found to be linked to a higher propensity for mental illness due to the age range of the participants, as well as the shorter follow-up time period; esotropic children were monitored to a mean age of 15.8 years, compared with 20.3 years for the exotropic group.[13][14][15] A subsequent study with participants from the same area monitored congenital esotropia patients for a longer time period; results indicated that esotropic patients were also more likely to develop mental illness of some sort upon reaching early adulthood, similar to those with constant exotropia, intermittent exotropia, or convergence insufficiency. The likelihood was 2.6 times that of controls. No apparent association with premature birth was observed, and no evidence was found linking later onset of mental illness to psychosocial stressors frequently encountered by those with strabismus.

One wonders whether her propensity to lie is related to her exotropia.

Mr. Trump doesn’t know the difference between the Quds Force and the Kurds. He can’t identify the nuclear triad, the American strategic nuclear arsenal’s delivery system. He had never heard of Brexit until a few weeks before the vote. He thinks the Constitution has 12 Articles rather than seven. He uses the vocabulary of a fifth grader. Most damning of all, he traffics in off-the-wall conspiracy theories by insinuating that President Obama was born in Kenya and that Ted Cruz’s father was involved in the Kennedy assassination. It is hardly surprising to read Tony Schwartz, the ghostwriter for Mr. Trump’s best seller “The Art of the Deal,” say, “I seriously doubt that Trump has ever read a book straight through in his adult life.”

The Trump acolytes claim it doesn’t matter; he can hire experts to advise him. But experts always disagree with one another and it is the president alone who must make the most difficult decisions in the world. That’s not something he can do since he lacks the most basic grounding in the issues and is prey to fundamental misconceptions.

In a way, the joke’s on the Republican Party: After decades of masquerading as the “stupid party,” that’s what it has become. But if an unapologetic ignoramus wins the presidency, the consequences will be no laughing matter.

Even if you don't like Max Boot, what he says here is true.

ps. i have no intention of voting for Horrible Hillary. never

Trump, unlike Hillary didn't steal the nomination, and by default the donations that so many of us made to our candidate.

Trumps party didn't switch my wife's ballot registration stealing her vote in the Primary.

Trump didn't pay an army of internet trolls to bad-mouth and harass Sanders supporters.

Trump may be an asshole, but at least he isn't an asshole pretending to be the savior of the poor, minorities and the disenfranchised while working behind the scenes towards the opposite.

I'll take an asshole liar over a murderous hypocritical liar any day...

is his anti-TPP position.

I consider that one important enough that I do toy with the notion of voting for him. (but will probably go Stein)

exposed to be a tool for the oligarchy/plutocracy. Regarding who is president, it hardly matters now, the show is run by the oligarchy/plutocracy and most of us simply have no say. The Princeton study a couple years back basically proved that we live in an oligarchy, that 95% of the people have no say in how its run and that working within this political system has been tried again and again and failed, it cannot happen.

Until we do something about this political system, and the Constitution itself, most of us will be subject to the whims of those that rule us. Trump might do this or that vs what Clinton might do, but it really won't change the overall situation.
If we're going to progress as a country and a human race, we're simply going to have to discard these centuries old thought processes and create new paradigms on how we govern ourselves.

Let me get this straight. Not blogging for a year. Comes back from the shadows. Is now a FPr.

Life is good.

Your friends are still in the trenches on the right hand side of the page.

Who knew you were so good?

Just kidding. You know me.

Ecstatic to see you and Big Al on the FP.

Keep on keeping on.
