The DNC Plans to Skip over the Scandals and Bring it Home.

Our Media Overlords decide what will be an issue in the American political theater, and what will not. They have embedded their talking points today. The silent consensus is that the nation has already moved on from the leak of the Democratic Party's email.

They're right. Corruption in the Democratic Party is not news. It's redundant. Duopolies, by their very nature, are structural mechanisms that inherently generate and hide corruption. In practice, a two-party system can easily evolve into highly profitable form of good cop, bad cop.

Americans get sucked into this two-party kabuki every time, replacing the priority of their own interests with The-Designated-Outrage-Du jour. This time it was particularly easy. Even disenfranchised Democrats instantly rolled over for the awesome Donald-Trump-Fear. Which is irrational, if you think about it logically. Perhaps USians can't recognize the obvious kabuki because they think the two-party system is sacred and was designed by Jesus when he wrote the US Constitution. Who can know for sure?

Nevertheless, this time it really is different; you can feel it in the air.

The Democratic Party Pivot to "Unity"

Clearly, the Democratic elite know they are in brand new territory. They've known that since January, at least, which accounts for their fevered behavior all year. They are scrambling to stop this 'Revolution-in-Self-Awareness' that's been steadily blooming in the hearts and minds of the people. The Party definitely doesn't want that at their convention, so they are going to use psyops (psychological operations) to suppress it.

Their plan for the Convention is to pretend that Hillary Clinton is actually the real Bernie Sanders. She will come out fighting for real™ change™ in America — both economic and social. She will even be waving her arms. [face/palm]

There is also a new, pre-emptive theme for the Democratic National Convention that emerged rather suddenly. The default theme will be UNITY! [Cue music, "We are the world…"] Hillary will be carrying a golden torch and leading the Unified Democratic Party into her signature, Fight for Change™.

I know. It's a sickeningly obvious ploy, but the Party Bosses are pretty sure the seamless extravaganza will gaslight the reluctant Dems (more psyops) and bring them back into the fold. It's always worked before, right?

Here's how they are polishing that turd over at the Washington Post, the night before the Demoncratic National Convention in Philadelphia.

The challenge for Clinton and her newly minted running mate, Sen. Timothy M. Kaine (Va.), will be to avoid becoming cheerleaders for the status quo and instead infuse that hopeful tone into an argument for change that could galvanize a frustrated and divided electorate.

Democrats promise four nights of speeches and entertainment that will highlight the core theme of Clinton’s campaign: “Stronger together.” The program will alternate among political heavyweights led by President Obama and former president Bill Clinton, celebrities such as Katy Perry and Lena Dunham, and everyday Americans whose aim will be to make Clinton appear more appealing and approachable.

And filled with change.

Successful as she is as actor, writer, producer, and director, she also never saw a sexual controversy that she didn't jump aboard and grandstand about - always taking The Woman's Side, Right Or Wrong (or, more specifically, ASS-uming The Woman's Version Is Always Right). This has gotten her negative publicity now and then, but she only seems to care that it keeps her name in the public eye.

Of course she's a Hillbot - what else could she possibly be?

Every time I see her confronted by a woman she pulls that attitude on them.
And the stories told by people who worked for her or the secret service agents all say how bitchy she talks to her underlings.
After she puts this woman down she laughs and thinks she is funny.

Some of the most interesting emails to read are those exchanged by DNC staffers as they decide how to respond to media inquiries, and then their off-the-record and deep background responses to numerous national media outlets. The emails contained off the record correspondence with reporters at the Washington Post, Politico, and the Wall Street Journal, among others.

It left me hungry for more.

But, this story goes nowhere that I can see. Primary election irregularities are state issues, but more importantly, the primaries are candidate preference polls taken by the Parties. They are not legally binding. The Party is free to ignore them and nominate a different candidate.

The shenanigans were done by a private club, the Democratic Party. It was not a public election. However, there are structural antitrust issues in this political club system, which conspires to block all competition (additional political parties). This results in grave harm to the American people, from whom remedies are withheld. Yet challenging the fundamental injustice of the Party system is unthinkable to Americans. Thus, they indemnify all the corruption derived from the system. In any event, the elections, political parties, and candidates are effectively owned by the super-wealthy, at the Federal level.

The source of the overall electoral dystopia comes from the archaic and hopelessly dated US Constitution, which was written with the rights if slavers in mind. The people do not wish to address this patchwork of dysfunction and pull it into the 21st century. Thus, the systemic corruption and corporate abuse that comes from it belongs entirely to the people.

And there we are.

Part of it was because of how Reagan ignored the AIDS epidemic and I had recently lost my brother to it. Bush had been his VP at the time and I also held him accountable for the thousands of people who had died while Reagan did nothing to address the epidemic by getting the pharmaceutical companies involved in finding a treatment for it. He instead listened to the Falwells and said that abstinence was the better option even though children and straights were also being infected.
I don't know how much attention I paid to their platform during the campaign.
But we have seen the damage that Clinton did to the people in this country. Welfare reform and the crime bill was immediately seen as damaging, but his other policies weren't apparent at how damaging they were until Bush was in office and we saw what deregulating the banks did to people who owned homes and what happened to their pensions.
Many of his other bills weren't obviously apparently damaging like NAFTA and others until factories started closing, hundreds of thousands of people lost their jobs and the jobs weren't there for people who had spent their careers at one jobs.
The policies he put in place are still hurting people today. We saw thousands of people get kicked off food stamps, the crime bill has seen the private prisons explode and we've seen how putting more cops on the streets has been detrimental to blacks.
So we do know how dangerous it will be if they get back into the WH.
The banks have financed their entire careers and they paid them back during Clinton's first term.
The bank, corporations and many other industries have given them tons of money and they have even more favors to pay back if Hillary becomes president.
They stole this election and they are betting that the n us being too afraid of Trump to not vote for them
But they are ignoring our anger and that many people have said that there is no way that they will vote for Hillary, but Jill instead.
And the blame falls on the DNC for running a shitty candidate and supporting her over Bernie.
Period!

All of it is pretty depressing. The only thing I want definitively answered is will he tell them to fuck off and run with Jill Stein? How much shit can he take, and does he owe to it anybody including himself. His staying within the party will accomplish nothing. He is a piranha, a Jonus. Hillary and the power brokers hate him, and his traditional allies are terrified of the Clintons. He will get nothing from everyone. He negotiated and came up empty handed in my opinion. From Politico:

Other speakers include Bill Clinton, Chelsea Clinton, Obama, Biden and DREAMer Astrid Silva.
By DANIEL STRAUSS 07/15/16 01:38 PM EDT

The other pieces mentioned that Monday's 'gavel' time will be 3:00 p.m., EST. It is 4:00 p.m., EST, on other days.

This headline indicates that Michelle, Bernie, and the third speaker will give 'keynote' addresses during evening hours (IMO).

Now this "time change". Unbelievable. If I have to turn my TV on at 8am and suffer through the whole damned day tomorrow, I will. Anyone who wants to see Sanders or hear him live is going to find a way, either while it's live, or after the fact. The DNC is just making it worse for themselves with their panic.

You can just imagine them moving Sanders off prime time, though. If they've truly done that, then they're afraid of him, that he's up to something.

Orwell: Where's the omelette?

as a "concession" to Sanders following WikiLeaks DNC emails disclosure:

(CNN) — The head of the Democratic National Committee will not speak at the party's convention next week, a decision reached by party officials Saturday after emails surfaced that raised questions about the committee's impartiality during the Democratic primary.

Debbie Wasserman Schultz, whose stewardship of the DNC has been under fire through most of the presidential primary process, will not have a major speaking role in an effort "to keep the peace" in the party, a Democrat familiar with the decision said. The revelation comes following the release of nearly 20,000 emails

One email appears to show DNC staffers asking how they can reference Bernie Sanders' faith to weaken him in the eyes of Southern voters. Another seems to depict an attorney advising the committee on how to defend Hillary Clinton against an accusation by the Sanders campaign of not living up to a joint fundraising agreement.

Wasserman Schultz is expected to gavel the convention in and out, but not speak in the wake of the controversy surrounding the leaked emails, a top Democrat said.

"She's been quarantined," another top Democrat said, following a meeting Saturday night.

This is seen as a concession to Sanders, who has been furious at Wasserman Schultz for what he believed was favoritism to Clinton.

The Democrat familiar with the decision said it was done in hopes of preventing chaos on the convention floor among Sanders supporters.

on whether the progressives will come on board and support Clinton. Now that it is 100% certain that the primary was rigged (as opposed to 99%) the question becomes how many progressives will the DNC leaks stop voting for/supporting Clinton.

Things have moved on a bit since the original comment - apparently Sanders said that he is still supporting Clinton despite the leaks - this may be enough to take the sting out of any potential rebellion.

Important to remember that the unity discussion is/was a big one even if most of us here are against the idea.
