The DNC Leak hits the fan, and I felt a disturbance--as if a million Clinton shills cried out at once

Been a few things that I wanted to diary in past few weeks, and now we have this on our hands. Well, well, well. Where to begin?

Or the downright scary? Google is now listing Wikileaks as a "dangerous site". Folks have been pointing out for years how far $GOOGL has strayed from its "do no evil" founding motto.

What I find most disgusting is how Clinton (who is most likely faking her religion) has a DNC explicitly trying to use Sanders' own heritage against him. Downright nauseating.

It might may [sic] no difference, but for KY and WA can we get someone to ask his belief,” Brad Marshall, CFO of DNC, wrote in an email on May 5, 2016. “Does he believe in God. He had skated on saying he has a Jewish heritage. I read he is an atheist. This could make several points difference with my peeps. My southern baptist peeps woudl draw a big difference between a Jew and an atheist.”

Amy Dacey, CEO of the DNC, subsequently responded “AMEN,” according to the emails.

The collaboration between media companies (that donate to Clinton groups) and the DNC is scary-- it even included missives from Clinton operatives within the DNC to MSNBC to change their reporting mid-segment.

Now, the interesting Twitter angle to all this is how #DNCLeaks (with an 's' at end) was trending yesterday, and then CLinton made her underwhelming announcement of tim kaine. That knocked DNCleaks off trending, but it's back up today as #dncleak without an 's' on end.

Ellen, BEWARE of torrent or tor sites!

Especially if you're not familiar with them, or you're not on one of the larger internet providers.

Smaller providers will catch you, and the sites are teaming with infected content. My daughter's laptop kept turning itself and her webcam on after downloading Game of Thrones.

Pirates aren't exactly known for being the kindest of souls, and often pack their shared or pirated content with really bad stuff. Beware!

Beware of the government, not the torrentz

Folks in poor countries of Latin America and the Caribbean have been legally torrenting (file sharing) for decades. These so-called "pirates" are millions and millions of poor people sharing their files freely. Poor people don't have bank accounts and credit cards. Poor people don't have cable TV subscriptions. The people who make up indices (like BitTorrent, Pirate Bay etc.) for sharing files are as big of heroes as Snowden. They have brought poor folks into the information age. Poor people have books to read and share freely, poor people can get texts for college, and see a good movie without spending a week of salary. People sharing files are not "pirates" they are a cooperative community of sharers. Poor people don't add viruses to what is shared, leave that to the 5 media giants and US government. Sharing is a progressive and revolutionary act. Consider torrentz as the Free International Lending Library of the World.

I doubt any viruses came from Game of Thrones mkv's and none would have come from index sites. Its unfortunate that big name anti-virus software flags torrent indexes and utorrent sharing code as "viruses" because they aren't.

The government/media giants aren't looking for some poor black guy in the inner city downloading the latest action movie. They are looking for the ones who know how to keep the sharing safe, open and free.

If someone lives in a country where sharing is illegal and the govt. controlled by big media corporations, then you will want to share using a VPN proxy. You will want to disable anti-virus software and scan afterwards. I will sincerely suggest though, that people in rich countries support and use local libraries, interlibrary loan, and buy books and used dvd's from mom and pop bookstores and garage sales.

I agree, at this point his best strategy is to let his

surrogates, I.E. us, make all the noise. (At least publicly)

It's not like we are not already anyway.

This lets him stay above the fray and places one less hurdle for the SD's to overcome in order to vote for him.

I would bet you dollars to donuts that there has been a lot of unofficial "Phone Banking" going on behind the scenes.

Sanders is probably playing this exactly as he should be. By not getting down in the mud he is keeping himself eligible.

If Sanders was to pound on this and the SD's did give him the nom many Clintonites would use this as an excuse to go PUMA, so he is denying them that out.

Stay Classy Bernie. While I wish you would have taken your gloves off early, staying above such things just illustrates what a true statesman he really is.

And if it works? Fuck me, I mean I always knew Bernie was one sharp cookie but damn... You wanna talk about a long strategy that will go down in the history books.

Bernie winning will teach us two things that we thought were set in stone were totally wrong.

1. you can win a campaign without big donors (Mission accomplished.)

2. You don't have to get down in the muck with your opponent to win.

If successful it could have a lasting impact in the way politicians approach campaigns in the future.

I use Skype.

For $60/year, I have both unlimited outgoing and incoming calls with my own phone number. I give that phone number to anyone that I do not want contacting me. Meanwhile, the unlimited calls is handy for long conversations that would eat up my cell phone's 250 minutes per month, such as calls to Comcast to wrangle a better deal. Even with a limited income, I find that the extra privacy this gives me well worth it.

Twitter kept piddling around with the ranking

of that hashtag all night long--it kept going back and forth between "DNCleak" and "DNCleaks". The latter here was the original, and it took off like a bat out of hell when the news first broke.

I never had trouble seeing either one--I guess whatsisname understands now that people "get" that Twitter edits and censors their "Trending" list, so rather than kill it altogether, they tried to tamp down the hits by playing spelling games.

It was fun to watch. People grokked to that shit immediately. They started tweeting BOTH tags and slagging Twitter at the same time. It was epic.

They can't keep up with it today. My PC feed on both hashes is jumping by 20 per 30-second interval (my phone gave up trying).

One beef I do have, though in this case, it might not matter....but WHY does Wikileaks do this shit on a Friday News Dump? They could have saved this for SUNDAY, ya think? Seems to me that by Monday night, it could be played out. I mean, it might not be, the way it's trending and working--cuz people are pissed about this--but still!

But going by what I've seen written by people here, it seems to be officially claimed that, being private parties and all, this is officially OK and Primaries different somehow than the General election. Boiling down to as long as big donors/TPTB approve of the selection permitted to be available in the two-party trade-off system, anything goes.

One imagines that

Paulsen is Obama's way of "staying in the loop".

So yeah, Barack Obama's very Presidency is in on this. Now, I understand that the office of the President, and everybody in it, are all very interested in a general sense, what with Obama being the de facto head of the DNC, but....wow. The things they're in the loop on are many, but this one in particular says to me that his Administration approved of the way Bernie Sanders was treated during elections. He had to know the cheating was going on.

Against a sitting Senator who has been in office longer than he has? If I had any respect for the guy left, it just went right out the window. That's pretty ugly all by itself. I haven't even gotten to the "financial" aspect of any of this.
