The Sanders Institute. [Updated: Link Added]
The Sanders Institute will focus on elevating issues and ideas — through media and documentaries — that Sanders said the “corporate media” fails to focus on, including the disappearing middle class, “massive” income inequality, horrific levels of poverty and problems affecting seniors and children.
It looks like Bernie has a plan:
Sanders said Democrats' loss of about 900 state legislative seats in nearly eight years tells him a strong grass-roots movement is needed to get people to run for office and to show them how — from getting on the ballot to running TV ads. Our Revolution, a 501(c)(4) political organization, will work with several progressive groups to train and vet candidates.
Is Bernie setting up a Progressive DLC?

Thanks for posting this. I have a request, though--
do you know of any way to get details, without registering with an email?
I did find a link to The Sanders Institute, but couldn't get past the page requesting an email address.
We don't 'do' emails--as in giving them out.
Thanks!
Mollie

Everyone thinks they have the best dog, and none of them are wrong.
Can understand why one would not --the many NGO issue groups
Email lists we subscribe to keep our junk mail folder refilling with maybe 50 a day. We read some, while traveling delete most unopened . Which reminds me , need to go unsuscribe from some, block others.
But I'll probably sign up for this one out of curiosity.
A truth of the nuclear age/climate change: we can no longer have endless war and survive on this planet. Oh sh*t.
It seems that there is nothing more than the splash page...
...and the contribution link at this time. I'm guessing there is more to come, depending on the level of interest...

Name it something like, "Sendgarbagehere@gmail.com" or something.

No Idea
This article was the first I heard a about it. My guess is that there are the usual start up snags. Keep trying?

Hey, thanks anyway. I'll keep looking around! ;-D EOM

I went ahead and signed up (heck, even the Repugs have
my email address!), and it just says, in effect, "Thank you for your interest! We'll be in touch via email!" I'll report back as things progress.

Don't know why
he has to start the Sanders Institute. Isn't the Dem Party already addressing these things? I'm sure hillary is. Just ask her.
Horrific levels of poverty and problems facing seniors and children? I'll bet Chelsea "I Tried to Care About Money" and the Clinton Foundation are working on this as we speak.
And, of course, then
you woke up.
the little things you can do are more valuable than the giant things you can't! - @thanatokephaloides. On Twitter @wink1radio. (-2.1) All about building progressive media.
I'm not that jazzed about "elevating issues" through media
and documentaries if that's the primary focus of the Sanders Institute.
Education is fine, but I think we're at the stage where people know what happened and is happening and are more focused on political answers to ending the screwing, not documentaries.
I have absolutely no interest in being some subset of the Democratic Party that gets marginally pandered to during elections and then ignored the rest of the time. Bernie did his bit this go-round and fulfilled his obligations for running as a Democrat. I think his vision would have a greater chance of coming to fruition if he retired from the Senate and said "okay now I am starting a new national party with my supporters and we plan to be on fifty ballots in two years." That I could definitely get behind.
Documentaries? Meh.

Then you have a very interesting set of friends
I can tell you that among my friends, only a small percentage of them believe that these issues are driven by corporatocracy and many don't even agree that it's an issue.
"Middle class disappearing? Ridiculous. The middle class is a mathematical concept and there will always be an average and some deviation around that which we can call 'middle'. In addition, even America's poor are not so bad off on global or historical terms so what's the issue?"
I could go on an on. But the problem, in my assessment, is that it's like waking up from the matrix. Actual reality diverges strongly from the believed reality and, on top of that, actual reality sucks. So there's a lot of avoidance/denial behavior going on.
No, I do not think most people even remotely understand what's going on. So I think the education aspect is critical although the political action segment definitely needs focus also because once someone is educated, they want to DO something.
A lot of wanderers in the U.S. political desert recognize that all the duopoly has to offer is a choice of mirages. Come, let us trudge towards empty expanse of sand #1, littered with the bleached bones of Deaniacs and Hope and Changers.

Yes Phoebe
I think that those of us who were screwed by the 1% are well aware of it. Raising awareness is only for guilting out the 1%, but they're not interested in the little people. They have Bill & Hill, robots, militarized police, corrupted political parties and courts, free trade agreements, and drones on their side. We are superfluous, if not now, then soon.
institute aside...
...and slightly OT, is there a general pool of money where we can contribute to get Sanders delegates to the convention? is there anything provided on Bernie's webpages? i've seen the delegate lists and their individual GoFundMe pages but it's hard to sort out who to contribute to among the individuals that are asking anywhere from $2000 to $7000. i can't even find out who is representing my district because the CA delegate list links are not operating. i'm told that by the CA Democratic Party that the links are down because the list is changing. people are dropping out and alternates are being selected. meanwhile, i can not determine who is representing my district to contribute to them.
