Video Replay - Sanders / Clinton Rally in Portsmouth, NH

Update: Rally took place at 11AM US East. Bernie's speech starts at 38 minute mark into the video.

Since no one else has put has put up a thread for this rally, I guess I've gotta do it. You bunch of Slackers. Hahhaha. Biggrin

I hope they don't skip Bernie's "endorsement" IF it happens cause I really want to hear the phrasing. What is ole Bernie up to that sly silver fox?

Mount your Unicorns people. We're going for a ride. Hahahaha.

Edit: I should disclose, I will never vote for Hellery or Trump. No matter what Bernie has to say today.

Pay close attention to Bernie hand gestures and body language. Remember he is being held captive. Biggrin

Uh oh. Might be a Booing in store for Hellery on her big day. Wink

in the platform means they voted and put it in the Dem Party Platform. A document that outlines Dem. Party policies and values. It doesn't mean much though because it is not binding.

does anything to the contrary of what he has proposed in his campaign. It's strategic and it's the only thing he can do now having run as a Democrat. I understand now why many have so vehemently opposed his decision to run as Democrat.

So, now I listen to Hillary and a couple of sentences is enough to know that this is not at all convincing. She will not win.

Any media outlet that tries to tell you otherwise, now--by the way, they'll say it so many times you'll be holding the puke back lest you don't make it to the toilet--is full of shit.

So ummm, flush twice, it's appreciated when the shit is this heavy. The lies are going to come thick and fast. Smartest thing any of us can do right now, today, is turn it off and take a day away from the computer.

despite Sanders endorsement. I don't think we live in interesting times. I think life sucks big time in the US of A.

Sanders is a classy guy. I don't feel he has betrayed his supporters, I feel he saved his platform to continue to be the base to fight on. I actually think it's funny how he says that Hillary Clinton knows everything so well what he has said in his campaign, though we know the opposite is the case. I think he gets her on a bind with that.

I think I can skip her speech. And I know the rest of Sanders stump speech. Just because he starts every sentence now with "Hillary Clinton understands ..." doesn't mean we believe it, nor does it mean she gives a damn.

I guess this concludes my journey into news gathering. I am done.

take his campaign to the convention. He's said that over 100 times. He lied. That was a betrayal.

There are a lot of excited Bernie delegates trying to gather enough money to get to Philly to vote for Bernie. I read recently (don't have link) that there is no point for them waste their money to go to the convention to be part of the dog and pony coronation. If nothing else it would serve to show that she does NOT have a mandate.

Everyone that is remotely aware, even her supporters though they would never admit it, knows they Gerrymandered if not outright stole this Nomination from Sanders.

At least I will be able to say, "Don't Blame me, I ain't a Democrat." when she pulls the garbage we all know she will pull. (At least after #DemExit day.)

Speaking of #DemExit, should we be talking about moving the date forward now?

It was his choice to make. I simply refuse to follow. Bernie's not a sellout. Bernie's not a traitor. Bernie didn't throw us under the bus.

I don't understand what he thinks that he's going to get from her, but after everything that we've seen, including this past week's platform committee nonsense, I seriously doubt it'll happen. Remember, this was never about Bernie, at least not about only him. He was just the messenger. This was about his platform, his ideas, his proposals, and an attempt to ease the suffering of the American people.

People are understandably going to be upset, disappointed, angry, and whatever else. Don't give up. Don't fall in line. Don't let Hillary off the hook. Do what you feel is right in November and do everything you can in the future to ensure that Bernie's platform becomes a reality in the long term.

But Green is where I'm headed. And I may do it before August (Florida's primary for other offices) because I can't actually vote for Tim Canova and there's not much to hang around for beyond that anyway down here.

Bernie, it was never about you. But dammit, if I was you, I'd be all over Jill Stein's offer. You're nuts to walk away from that. You better lay it out in your next book what's happened here....

I was gonna wait till after our primary as well but I already am considering just making my #Demexit today...

There are no progressive dems running in my area and no third party challengers so why bother showing up for their primary.

They can have their morally and ethically corrupt party all to themselves. It's always been theirs anyway and not mine, I just didn't know it until now.

So I owe Bernie a huge amount of respect for that. Easily enough to outweigh my disappointment at his decision.

Bernie lied to me when he told me he was going to take his campaign to the convention.

I'm still automatically donating to his campaign through ActBlue. That ends today.

I was going to wait to mail in the papers to change my party registration from Democrat to something else. Nope, I won't wait. That will go in the mail today.

Maybe at some point I'll get over this and come back to fight another day, but I doubt it. Why? Because it just doesn't mean anything anymore. I've been sold out so many times, I realize if I don't expect anything, I won't lose anything.

I'm done, I'm done, I'm done.

Shame on you, Bernie, for not keeping your word. As a matter of fact you said you wouldn't run as an Independent or Green Party. Why didn't you break your word here instead of now in this way and not going to the convention as a candidate?

And if we had to watch you break your word, why in the hell stand next to her.

My guess is that he simply sees Trump as a worse evil. He may delude himself into thinking that he may get something as a result of his support for Clinton, but he will not get anything of substance. He got some concessions in the platform, but the platform is of little consequence. Clinton will not be constrained by it. It will not influence legislation. Look at his options. Run third party which will result in a loss and a likely Trump Presidency. Do nothing until after the convention vote--this would be my preference because I think it is important for his delegates and voters to have their votes registered-- and then endorse Clinton. Go full bore on election fraud--the corporate media would use this to brand him as dangerous and delusional. So all the choices are bad. The choice he has made would not be mine but I can, unfortunately, understand it.

...Trump wound up being the Republican nominee. still, i wish he would have at least waited until after the Republican convention to see whether or not Trump will continue to be the nominee. there's so much backroom stuff going on to put a stop to him. would Sanders' have not endorsed if Trump isn't the nominee? we'll never know now. only thing left is to hope something disastrous for the Clinton campaign before November.

to provide them incentive them to join US in 2018 when we have our new party, or at least by 2020.

There is just no way we are going to slowly fix the Democratic party in the available time frame necessary to save our planet and ourselves.

This is no longer just about electing progressives for me, that is a goal, but so is destroying the duopoly and the Democratic Party.

They are a tourniquet stopping the flow of progressive change, and not by accident.

After this cycle I don't see how any real progressive would even consider running as a democrat anyway.

But, if by some miracle one does arise I can always switch back, but nothing would send a louder message that they are on the wrong path than seeing their registration numbers drop below 20%.

I encourage you to reconsider, because as I said before, you can always switch back and we really do need to send as many messages as we can as loudly as possible to those who seek to gain political office.

Of course, at the end of the day I don't begrudge you whatever decision you may make, I just wanted to offer my own humble suggestion. Smile

to $12/hr "incrementally" over the next several years. Sanders want to go immediately to $15/hr.

She maintains it has to be incremental to avoid a strain on "The Economy" (it would actually do the opposite). The problem with incrementalism is it has to continue incrementing. But, the wage has not been incremented in decades which leads me to believe it's too late for incremental changes and we have to catch-up now.

or say that they will propose, regarding raising the minimum wage.

Remember--Democrats didn't even pass the $10.10 minimum wage raise that they campaigned on several years ago.

And that was when they held the White House and either one, or both chambers. (I'd have to rewatch the Harkin video, since it's been almost two years since he was interviewed about this on C-Span.)

IMO, this plank means very little, to nothing--if we go by their past history.

...but a Hillary Clinton presidency is not the end of the world. For that matter, neither is a Donald Trump presidency. What both of them represent is yet another four years of nothing good getting done. I realize that it's election season, and I've been through enough of them to know that the heated and hyperventilated rhetoric will rise to a crescendo, the votes will be (mostly) cast and (most likely not properly) counted, a "winner" will be declared, and then things will go back to exactly the way they were for a few months, until the next campaign starts. Lather, rinse, repeat. Every single election I've participated in has been dubbed, "THE MOST IMPORTANT ELECTION OF OUR LIFETIME!!!" And I guess to an extent that is true, as participating in our little experiment in self-governance is truly important, and if enough people actually believed that and participated things might be different. But it hasn't ever really met the expectations of doom suggested by the rhetoric. Sure, what if Al Gore hadn't been a terrible campaigner and too cute by half by only asking for "Democratic" counties to be recounted instead of the entire state? Would 9/11 have never happened? I think it would have, as it had been planned for years in advance, and I have no doubt Gore wouldn't have wanted to look like a giant pussy and would have taken us into a war of some kind. We also would have had four to eight more years of Neoliberalism, DLC, New "Democrat" bullshit. What if Howard Dean's campaign hadn't been sandbagged by the aforementioned Neoliberalism, DLC, New "Democrat" bullshit peddlers? What if John Kerry had done the expected and risen to the lowest of low bar expectations and actually beaten the worst President Ever? What if Barack Obama hadn't been yet another Neoliberalism, DLC, New "Democrat" bullshit clone? What if John Edwards hadn't cheated on his wife? What if, what if, what if. Somehow we (barely) survived, and somehow we will survive this election. Honestly, with climate change we're fucked no matter who wins the White House, even if Bernie Sanders had beaten the odds and a majorly-stacked deck. Life will miserably go on for the vast majority of the earth's inhabitants, same as it ever was...

What a bummer, eh? But no less so than the constant drumbeat of "THE END IS NEAR!!!!" courtesy of the impending Clinton presidency. So what I'm I going to do? Give up? I mean, I just said we're fucked either way, so why bother doing anything, right? No, I won't give up. I'll take this giant shit sandwich life has handed us and try to make the best of it. After all, the next presidential election is only four years and four months away. Time to get busy!

Hey! my dear friends or soon-to-be's, JtC could use the donations to keep this site functioning for those of us who can still see the life preserver or flotsam in the water.

but apparently that's all the American system allows you to come up with, right? And of course we just have to accept the system as it is. Oh boy. Good luck with that.

is that when you're inauthentic and forcing something, it really shows. I doubt that large crowds will turn out to see Bernie sell Hillary to the American people.

I saw the email titled "We're going to the convention" from a couple weeks ago. I unsuscribed with the reason "'We're going to the convention' was a lie".

I am sorry, but female this and that doesn't cut it for me.

Jill Stein carries on Sanders platform. Which decent person would expect us to vote against the platform of Sanders, we supported so far? I don't think even Sanders in his right mind would expect it. So, just let us not do it. There is no reason to trust Hillary Clinton's foreign policies and any of her "little tweaking here an there" kind of approach.

Trump can still easily beat Hillary Clinton, running over her from the left. Which is just horrible to think about. But haven't similar things happen before in US history?
