And Now We Know Why...
WJC made such a big effort to point us in the direction of the new big shiny thing, Lynch. He could have called her, but no. The FBI on the tarmac could have kept silent rather than making a big stink (no pictures, etc.) so that an excessive curiosity was aroused, giving the meeting more attention (three plus pages on a Google search) than what was probably needed, but no. Note: Yes, corruption needs attention, but the meeting was a red herring.
Buried in today's news:
EXCLUSIVE: Hillary Clinton Scheduled To Meet With FBI On Saturday
Former Sec. of State Hillary Clinton is scheduled to meet Saturday with the FBI, a source close to the investigation into her private email server tells The Daily Caller.
The source went on to suggest the interview may take place at her Washington, D.C. home.
The bureau’s interview with the presumptive Democratic presidential nominee is believed to be the final step in its investigation into the potential mishandling of classified information on Clinton’s private email server.
For whatever reason, the Daily Caller has been getting a lot of these exclusives lately. MSM will pick it up in a day or two or three...

I think Hillary should be interviewed on an airplane

Meh, that's too pat a conclusion
I prefer to think, in keeping with how helpful the Obama administration has been, that perhaps the list of questions the FBI planned to ask HRC might have helpfully been passed along to sweet old Bill by his noob of an Attorney General...

only talked about the grandchildren, how is it no one has mentioned that they could have passed notes to each other? Or possibly a heavy envelope?

I read reports that a Grand Jury
was seated a long time ago. I think we are now getting very close to the end ABC reported just 3 hours ago in their short article on the story...
We shouldn't have to wait much longer! And if this is true, we'll know before the convention. Please let there be indictments. I can't bear the thought of her being president for 4 long years.

I had heard rumors about a Grand Jury also.
I think it was in connection with Pagliano getting immunity, but I do not know. I have not heard anything about a prosecutor being appointed, so...

Yes.
I think it was deGenova, saying that the immunity deal must mean there's a grand jury, because he had to be testifying somewhere to need immunity.
I feel it's mostly wishful thinking. The superdelegates
never would have lined up so early and often otherwise.

Right off hand, I do not remember the timing
but I think the news about the server did not come out until after the Benghazi hearings at which time, I think most of the SDs had already signed on to the heads-up-their-asses show. There is also the whole Teflon thing in which nothing seems to stick to the Clintons (another thing they got from Reagan besides their policies).

Bill Clinton
wanted to be seen meeting with Lynch. What was said is unimportant. The plan is to force Lynch to recuse herself therefore delaying the process. In other words the Clintons are trying to punt this as far into the future as possible.
The only question imo is whether Lynch was in on this or not (I suspect that she was) - the odds of this whole think happening spontaineously is roughly zero.
The very public nature of this gambit is the giveaway - being seen was key.
“To learn who rules over you, simply find out who you are not allowed to criticize.” -Voltaire
I am kind of torn between a couple of theories.
If the Clintons just wanted to bribe Lynch, it could have been done over the phone or in secret.
If they wanted to bury the story of HRC being interviewed this weekend, that worked pretty well.
If they are trying to actually sully the case by making it look like she is working with them and forcing her to recuse herself, then it is anybody's guess. I haven't done a lot of reading about Lynch herself. My original guess was this in order to force a special prosecutor, but really am not sure what their ground game is...just that they have one.

I don't think she was in on it
I think the only reason it happened she was caught by surprise. On Clinton's part it had to have been carefully planned.

A visit to my fantasy world: I am going to assume that those government planes have recording devices built in to catch meetings that take place there. Lynch turned on the recorder while WJC fluffed the pillows on the settee. She will now turn over those recordings of what he really said to the FBI, and then absent herself (maybe a severe cold) allowing the Deputy Attorney General to handle the case(s).

If there is no struggle there is no progress.--Frederick Douglass
She could have a bad cold and let an assistant handle it.
Maybe the assistant could continue to handle the case when Loretta gets to feeling better.
Life is strong. I'm weak, but Life is strong.
We will have to keep an ear out to see if Lynch starts
sounding raspy. The Clintons may try to slip her some cough syrup though, so we need to keep an eye out for WJC showing up as a pharmacy delivery boy. Once the deputy starts proceedings, Lynch is off the hook as she cannot take the case back.

My favorite part is he just appears on the plane
Guess what, the Attorney General traveling on a government airplane with secret service protection doesn't just have people, even X presidents getting on her plane without her agreeing in advance
Puts Obama in a bind
The more I read this, there is a case to be mad that stupid Bill forcing himself on Lynch's plane. He is so used to power broker back room meetings to wield influenced he thought nothing of the consequences of this meeting. So given Lynch's remarks about locking the plane's doors, I believe she was ambushed by Bubba. And did not stand up to him. Welcome to the shitstorm Ms. Lynch.
So what does she do. Lynch protects herself by claiming she will accept any recommendation by the FBI. She basically took herself out of being able to squash any indictment. The Clintons fucked with her, and she is now protecting herself. Of course she may know the FBI will not recommend an indictment and looks good for her neutrality.
And if there is an indictment, what is the President to do? Throw the FBI and Lynch under the bus? Support an indicted Hillary and attack the FBI? Or simply step back and remove probably the most effective campaigner Clinton has?
Poor Obama...
He put himself in this position. He gets to reap his due rewards. He shouldn't have said anything until at least the convention was over.
IF HRC is nominated, and he takes to the campaign trail for her, it will be interesting to see what happens to his ratings. She could drag those down. Or, because pretty much all of her surrogates have been infected with foot in mouth disease, he will make some very serious gaffe.

anyone check her detail for staff changes?
I suspect that by the time this all over...
assuming he doesn't feel this way already, he will come to regret the day he offered Hillary Clinton the position of Secretary of State.

I suspect that he regretted it
the minute she suggested it. What qualified her for SOS: her lobbying as First Lady or her truncated Senate experience?
Given that Obama handled most foreign affairs (most of the Middle East, Iraq, Iran--notably he let her deal with Libya, to his regret) within the White House rather than letting HRC handle them indicates that he did not quite trust her.

I tried to write a diary about this last night but it got erased
And this is exactly the point I was making. The facts are clear, that Bill instigated this (let's call it Tarmacgate, ok?) and it was designed, as this diary points out, to be very publicly noticed. And now we have the long-awaited interview with Hillary coinciding with the fallout from this ploy of his.
But there is more to it than Bill running interference for Hillary, hoping to distract the country from her interrogation by the Feds. In fact, the sudden appearance in the news cycle of Hillary's interview is just as likely Lynch's attempt to tamp down the firestorm she allowed to take place by letting Bill barge in on her like he did. She may be saying "See, I'm letting my dogs loose on Hillary so you can't say I'm in the bag for those two1"
But here's the real takeaway from this, imo: Bill did this, and did it purposefully so that it would become the firestorm it has become, so that calls for a special prosecutor would overwhelm the investigation and Lynch would be forced to step aside for an independent counsel. Counter-intuitive, to be sure, but when you're desperate you do desperate things. Here's the rub, though: If a special prosecutor is to be called in, it will delay the proceedings by many months, well beyond the current election cycle, and would put the whole thing on hold, freezing the investigation just as it was about to wrap up in order that the SP (whose appointment, after all, will itself take some time to occur) can get up to speed with respect to the status of the investigation, and can order whatever adjustments and further lines of inquiry he or she decides is worthwhile to pursue.
Bill knows that if an SP becomes unavoidable (and remember that the talk of it had subsided to near zero prior to Tarmacgate) Hillary can take the fait accompli route to the White House, knowing that with an opponent as defective as Trump is, she'll be assured of victory as long as the Sword of Damocles that has been hanging over her head has been taken down to be fitted with a new thread. And once she's in the WH, she holds the cards she doesn't have access to know.
And yes, Warren will be her Impeachment Insurance Policy.
and here's how Lynch can extract herself from Tarmacgate:
Order an Obstruction of Justice investigation of Bill for orchestrating this disruption of the email investigations just as they were about to conclude.
She doesn't have the chutzpah, of course, but interviewing his security detail and his scheduling team would be the only logical legal response to this, imo. Here's a link, in fact, to an FBI informant who spoke Deep Throat-style to The Observer the other day, which indicates that there's plenty of animus toward Bill in the DoJ ranks. Read that link. It has the ring of authenticity. In fact, it's probably not too hard for an insider to figure out who the informant is, so we might be on the lookout for a fired FBI Phoenix agent in the upcoming weeks.
Sick but possible
this is actually the problem. There is literally not a single scenario that one could put forth which is not a possibility in Clinton world
