Meet your Democratic Hypocrite: Obama.
When will people like Obama and other Democrats realize that we're not stupid, that their rhetoric won't work anymore with a lot of people.
So Obama sent out an email endorsing Russ Feingold, and one issue Obama praised Feingold on, Hillary had the opposite vote, yet Obama's endorsing Hillary. What the what?
President Barack Obama is sending out a fundraising email Monday morning for Russ Feingold, one of the Democrats’ best prospects for picking up a Senate seat this year.
...
“Russ isn’t afraid to stand up for what he knows is right, even when it isn’t popular,” Obama’s fundraising email reads. “He was the sole senator to vote against the USA PATRIOT Act, and one of very few who stood in opposition to the war in Iraq. Russ also took an early and loud stance in support of marriage equality for gay Americans,
And Feingold FINALLY endorsed a candidate: Hillary. I think he, and Elizabeth Warren, were political cowards for not endorsing anyone prior to the end of the primary voting.
As far as I'm concerned, Russ can go you know what himself. I don't support political cowards -- EVER.

hypocrite? or liar? or amoral and doesn't care?
what a sham the guy turned out to be. I bet he joined Rev. Wright's church solely so he could learn some oratory tricks.
what an odd pitch
Possibilities: (1) written in haste without a thought to the glaring contradiction - standard issue establishment cognitive dissonance. (2) They are just "marketing" (i.e. lying). (3) They saw the contradiction and didn't care, the mark of a bullshitter. The book On Bullshit, by Harry G. Frankfurt, argues that "bullshit" is different from lying, because bullshit is characterized by not caring about what the truth might be in the first place.
I'm leaning towards (2).
I'd go with three. They don't give a damn what we think. nt

Yup.
I vote 3.
There are known knowns; there are things we know we know. We also know there are known unknowns; that is to say we know there are some things we do not know. But there are also unknown unknowns – the ones we don't know we don't know.
Oh, I'm with 2
It's all about the marketing - just say what you think the consumer wants to hear and make that sale!
For some classic bullshit misdirection, check out Elijah Cunningham's blather about why he's voting against Keith Ellison's TPP amendment at the platform hearings (mostly about 1 hour into the afternoon video). "I've voted against every trade agreement but this is the President's final 6 months in office and he's really in favor of TPP and we have to support him no matter what because he's our president blah blah blah blah." Translation: if the Republicans line up behind it and it's sure to pass I'll vote against it, but if it needs my vote Obama will get it.
For the amendment: Ellison, Bill McKibben, Cornel West (check out his truly fine smackdown of the neoliberals), and I think Deborah Parker, tho I couldn't see the person for lack of camera focus.
Against: EVERYBODY ELSE.
Obama forgot that another
Obama forgot that another senator said NO to the Patriot act,,,,,Bernie Sanders. But Russ is a establishment safe bet, so he gets praise by the elite as they wonder if they can make a win.
So long, and thanks for all the fish
They'll just say
Bernie was not a Democrat at the time (true enough, but...)
There are known knowns; there are things we know we know. We also know there are known unknowns; that is to say we know there are some things we do not know. But there are also unknown unknowns – the ones we don't know we don't know.
Technically speaking...
it is correct to say only one Senator voted against the USA PATRIOT Act, and it was Russ Feingold. If you want to talk about the members of the House who voted against the PATRIOT Act who are now Senators there are three former Representatives, they were Sanders, Tom Udall, and Sherrod Brown.
I got the same email
and thought the same thing. Apparently they don't give a shit what we think but they will take our money and our vote.
SWEIN?
So what else is new?
[pun unintended].
There are known knowns; there are things we know we know. We also know there are known unknowns; that is to say we know there are some things we do not know. But there are also unknown unknowns – the ones we don't know we don't know.
I knew that. lol!
I am SOOOOO stealing this!!

I think Russ is probably an OK guy
His heart tends to be in the right place most of the time. (The exception - I/P) He stuck to his guns on PAC $$$ last time around and lost to the odious and embarrassing ron johnson; I think this time the DNC is stepping in regardless of what Russ thinks, because controlling the Senate is a goal for them, and they're pushing PAC $$$ (and other things like email begs from potus) into the race whether Russ asked, or even wants it, or not... His falling in line and endorsing $hillery is a disappointment to be sure. I suspect he was coerced like most other dems...
I got that email,
and it was in fact from Feingold's campaign, even though the FROM field says Barack Obama.
I hit the unsubscribe and when asked why, filled in that I do not accept any emails from Barack Obama.
I hope Russ's campaign gets the message that he needs to distance himself from the Party of lie and fail.
