How low will Hill-people go?

They're now trumpeting the fact that Brent Scowcroft endorsed Hillary Clinton today. First it was Kissinger, now it's Scowcroft. From Scowcroft's wikipedia page:

Brent Scowcroft KBE (/ˈskoʊkrɒft/; born March 19, 1925) is a retired United States Air Force Lieutenant General. He was the United States National Security Advisor under U.S. Presidents Gerald Ford and George H. W. Bush. He also served as Military Assistant to President Richard Nixon and as Deputy Assistant to the President for National Security Affairs in the Nixon and Ford administrations. He served as Chairman of the President's Foreign Intelligence Advisory Board under President George W. Bush from 2001 to 2005 and assisted President Barack Obama in choosing his national security team

The Hill-people around the Internet are bragging as if this endorsement is a point of pride. WTF?!?! I really do wonder how low Dems will sink.

I have voted for every Dem presidential candidate since I cast my first vote for Jimmy Carter. I will not vote for Hillary in November, (if indeed she is the candidate). If they've lost me, how can they not have lost every damn Democrat in this country? I'm constantly filled with these emotions brought on by this "election": Confusion, betrayal, despair. And it's all under a sheen of rage at what we've become.

I'm sorry -- I just don't get it.

I'm a pacifist, too, so I'm kind of uncomfortable with the level of rage that I'm feeling. I find myself wanting something to happen -- an indictment, a Clinton Foundation tell-all -- ANYTHING that will change what's going on. I can't come to grips with the thought that Hillary will be the nominee.

I feel it will do the most good. It keeps away the feelings of hopelessness. She may be the nominee, but we have it in our power to make sure she does not become president...if we have the courage.

that many republican military personnel are endorsing hill is a great thing. Do they even bother to think why these people are endorsing her?
Anyone else remember when all those people who wrote up PNAC, like Kagan, Cheney, armitage, Pearl and others were bad people because of what PNAC stood for?
The fucking Iraq war was their idea? And they first took it to Bill Clinton trying to get him to overthrow Saddam. And you know damned well that Hillary knew about that. That makes her vote for the AUMF where her supporters say that she was only giving the inspectors time to finish their job full of bullshit. She knew that her vote was for the invasion. Period.
Many people joined DK because of the Iraq war and was against everything that Bush and the GOP were doing.
Kagan is advising her on foreign policy during her campaign and that doesn't even give them pause?
Now all the republican military officials are supporting her and they think that's a good thing? Jeeeesssuuus!!
Here's one comment from the diary there.
Unbelievable!

The entire Republican defense and foreign relations professional establishment will endorse Clinton. Some things really are bipartisan.

There is no depth that the Clinton machine fears. The only thing they fear is not having more money and power.

Bring on Dick "'Dick' Cheney and zombie Reagan. Throw in convicted felon Oliver North for good measure. He can give Hilarity some prison survival tips as well.

The Dems, Hillary, the DNC, the bots, various sites we know, all feel that the definition of a Democrat is whatever those in charge say it is. There are no definites, no moral stands, no issues. Kissinger? Scowcroft? Great! Because they're "winners"!

But then everybody knows this.

Or they have fallen victim to lying shills of the lowest order. There are unpaid Clinton shills out there who actually beLIEve the bullshit. Cat only knows why, but they're out there, and quite numerous at that. These poor bastards are actually convinced that Hellery is a real progressive and will fight for them once elected. They have serious pain a-coming.

I have no idea what to suggest to atheists regarding these benighted souls. To those who do believe in some sort of Supreme Being I advocate long and loud importuning of the Same.

and I've been a solid Dem since I proudly cast my first vote for McGovern.
I wondered, how could two supposed protesters of US in Vietnam choose to holiday with that war criminal? Between the two of them, don't they have any morals? Or real friends with whom they'd rather spend their down time?

I've been truly and utterly traumatized by the Clintons. First in the 90s, feeling the need to defend Bill. And now, with HRC's nasty campaign, her proclivity for lying, the shenanigans with the Clinton Foundation, the careless way she seemed to handle nat sec issues while SoS, her seeming atrocious judgment on a range of issues. It's all been making me ill, literally. I don't understand clearly how or why the Clinton tentacles have so deeply penetrated my Democratic Party. I despair, and it's a damn pathetic consolation to know that others are despairing with me. Until it's time to fight like hell.

because of Bernie. Remember?
(I have an Aussie friend that swears Hillary is commonly referred to in that country as Hillarity.)
I am just beside myself over this election.
Everyone is talking revolution and the future.
We just may not HAVE a fucking future. Down tickets my ass.
I think this time was THE time.
And the moment has apparently passed.

This is a beginning. Revolution is part of it - necessary, really, for anything to effect change. Please remember Damnit Janet said:"Never Give Up!" We must not. I am beside myself, too. We all are. Just tonight I said to Raggedy Andy, after he read something Herr Drumpf said about hrc, "whats wrong with people? Can't they see what's happening? These people are going to be throwing shit bombs at each other for 6 months! Is this what people want?" As I typed that, the answer came to me, "yes, it's another reality teevee show; that's entertainment."

Is this the tipping point? If not, then what?

And that's exactly what this is. Two people throwing shit bombs at each other along with their sycophants and instead of talking about the issues and the problems facing this country and the world, we are going to get countless shit bombs.
Is that how the election of 2016 is going to be remembered for?
The country had one last chance of trying to turn things around, but instead people are voting for the status quo.
Remember during the health care debates on DK how many times we were told to call, email and sign petitions to our congress members to pass single payer or the least the public option?
Now none of that is important to them even after Hillary told them that universal health care or single payer will never ever happen.
As I wrote in another comment, everything that the site used to be against when it was the republicans doing them has become acceptable since Obama was elected and Hillary became his SOS.
Just absolutely mind boggling that they can pretzlelize their thinking.

is a sign that Hillary's campaign has given up on us Bernie supporters & is working on getting as many repugs as possible. And it will work unless Trump is replaced and/or Johnson runs a strong enough campaign that he's perceived as the "real" repub in the race.

but I wouldn't put anything past them anymore. There are heaps of diaries and comments at TOP these days that are straight-up fucking delusional -- saying all Bernie supporters are really Ron Paul acolytes, or a majority of them are Trump supporters, or they really just hate Hillary donchaknow. All of these viewpoints are incredibly popular there, and they get virtually zero blowback. Like, none.

The Democratic Party in general has learned absolutely nothing from the ascent of Bernie Sanders candidacy for POTUS, exactly like Matt Taibbi predicted.

So these fuckin' people are proud of all the wrong fuckin' things. It doesn't surprise me in the least that the Hill folk are all atwitter about a Brent Snowcroft endorsement, because of course they are. Douchebags.

of nonproductive pie fights. We support our groups and diaries like the BNR, and otherwise let them have at it. They sound like sore winners gloating and boasting and trying to smear. No objective person is going to buy their crap. So let them gloat and boast and try to smear. We have better things to do.

And I have decided to find it effing hilarious that they follow us all over the Web and when we do comment at TOP, they cut and paste and take out of context our words from this and other progressive sites to show how "terrible" we are, and it just supports our arguments and makes us look like big deals. I always wanted to be quoted! We have stalkers! We fascinate them. We're famous!

Your post really resonates with me. I've felt every aspect of this...

I'm constantly filled with these emotions brought on by this "election": Confusion, betrayal, despair. And it's all under a sheen of rage at what we've become.

But I'm simultaneously experiencing a very high level of optimism--I think maybe more than I have ever felt. We've seen fear and outright panic in our opponents as we have forced them to make mistakes and reveal things that they would have preferred to keep secret. We've watched as the mighty establishment beast maneuvered to protect vulnerabilities from wounds that we inflicted. Did you ever think you'd see that? Did you ever think you'd be the cause of that?

Politics is such a game of deception, isn't it. That includes self-deception. No matter what I might have said a year ago, I don't think any part of me truly believed that it would be possible to do what we have already done. It's like I was going through the motions while believing deep inside, in jumbled words that I dare not put together and say (or even think to myself), that we had already run out of time.

If politics is the art of the possible, then the definition of "possible" has now been expanded to include things that are necessary. That's not a trivial thing. I now think we will prevail. I think we'll make some mistakes and I think it will get messy, but I think we will prevail.
