Good Evening
Doing a bit better today but still massively sore from the seizure. Wearing longer sleeves to cover the worst of the bruising.
My niece and family are off to a comic convention and she stopped by to get a couple of my Howard the Duck comics to be signed.

I like your sigline
and quite enjoy greeting the dawn. You may call me a dreamer...

evening michelewin...
glad to hear that you are healing up.
wow, other people collect howard the duck comics? i started reading them when they first came out and it's the only comic book that i have kept over the years. i always related to the line "trapped in a world that he never made."
Howard the Duck
My brother laughs at me but Howard the Duck is the only comic I ever got interested in. I have some of the old ones still in fact Berni took one of the original comics along with issue one of the new series to get them autographed for me. When I was in ER she gave me the new issue with the return of Bev.

new issue?
you mean that they are going to continue the series? cool! i may have to find a comic book store when i get home.
New Series
They started up again in March of 2015. They are just as nutso as the originals. They first storyline has 5 comics in it. The second series has 8 as well as a Squirrel Girl cross-over. They are so worth it.

Evening Joe
Good as usual.
I'm here at the TB (renamed for the night the 'Orlando') Rays game.
It's 'Pride' night (I'm straight not narrow.)
I'll have a cold one for you.
I want a Pony!

have two cold ones so that you can have one for yourself!
Good Evening, c99p and Joe, here is why I like old fashioned
archives. Imagine the old files from the Young Lords would have been digital files and emails. I guess after 36 years they wouldn't have been found again, after they had been declared "missing". But in good old boxes with paper files, even if they were supposedly all lost for three decades, they can "reappear". Amazing that 10000 of boxes just can rot undetected for three decades in some NY warehouse.

Ok, I found a nice quote that justifies to ramble along here and talk about whatever comes to my mind.
It doesn't have to be a bar, it could be Joe's Crab Shack, that way you not only can chat and eat but learn about all that political crap like in a lesson "crab 101". (arghh couldn't download that image).
PS: Some amazing landscape pictures, Joe, sharp and in a wide angle. How did you do that? Thanks and have a good weekend all.

France has its own neoliberal antiworker pseudoleft party
as do so many countries. Marine Le Pen and the FN a "right-wing extremist party" actually have a more pro-worker, pro-safety net policy than Hollande.
evening mimi...
thanks for keeping up with the news. i will have a lot to catch up on when i get back.
there are a couple of things that i've figured out over the years that really help with landscape pix taken in strong daylight. i use a circular polarizing filter - and for distance shots i stack the polarizer on top of a haze filter. those are both really useful filters.
Okay, so Bill Currey is channeling Robert Reich--saying Bernie
is asking his supporters to "work and vote to defeat a facist Trump;" then, work on an independent progressive movement after the election.
If that's the case, sounds somewhat like Governor Dean's DFA (Democracy For America).
BTW, we were Deniacs (never liked that term, though)--a member of two Chapters of DFA, at one time. Unfortunately, now, when I see what Howard Dean says about healthcare reform on the Cable Business Channels, I wonder 'how' we were sucked in. *Sigh*
Hopefully, this project/movement won't follow Dean's route, and be co-opted.
Thanks for posting this, Mimi.
Joe, thanks for the gorgeous photos and tunes. I know that you must have had a very nice vacation, just from looking at them!
I'll be reading every night for the next couple weeks (naturally), but we're up to our eyebrows in family matters, so my commenting will probably be sketchy.
Therefore, I'll thank you in advance for your wonderful News & Blues--and photos!
Hey, everyone have a nice rest-of-the-evening!

Yosemite is beautiful.
Makes me very happy previous generations had the foresight to preserve some of the awesome natural beauty of this nation. Let's hope generations to come are able to enjoy it.
evening scoff...
the national parks are probably the best idea that the powers that be have ever had. i only hope that we don't wind up loving these beautiful places to death. yosemite canyon was very crowded when i was there and even some of the further out, less well known parts of the park that i visited the second day had lots of people and cars around. fortunately, it's a huge park with much of its areas inaccessible to cars and buses.
Lovely pics, joe.
Beautiful blue skies for your vacation.
Have a good evening.
evening olinda...
the weather has largely cooperated nicely with my vacationing. i did wind up in a sleet storm in sequoia np that made the california drivers in front of me pretty crazy. i got the feeling that they had never driven in snow before and there was six inches of slush on the twisty-turny road. heh.
have a great weekend!

have a great weekend!
As a lark, I have asked for and received an application
to be a "victim" on Love it or List it, Vacation Homes. My disaster, unlivable cottage on an island in Canada is the target. Unfortunately, they want an upfront budget from me about what they can do. That will be a trick, I am out my entire "budget" already and don't think I can qualify for a mortgage on Social Security income. I am currently close to underwater with a retainer to an attorney there, suing for fraud, and a bill due from a structural engineer telling me to "cut bait". I will have to do some soul searching. I have little emotional investment in that place, that got wrung out of me. It would be a great marketing opportunity to have my cottage fixed up in market-bland moderne (or cottage-y). "as seen on TV" has a certain cachet to some.
