But I will give him all the credit for sounding the alarm about the Clintons long before I was prepared to think they could be that bad. His untimely passing has been a great boon to the Clinton machine. Watching Joan Walsh, who has been among the worst of the "berniebro" taunters, get served at the end there was nice. But she's getting the last laugh now, isn't she.
because I wanted some kind of "news" site and cancelled NYT. I know, NYT isn't really "news" per se, but I did used to at least scan the headlines and I always learned a LOT from the comment section. Of course now it's all Hillbots all the time there, so no big loss on that. But I commented yesterday in the shilling Joan Walsh article on Hillary's big win as a female, and remarked that I just might have to cancel my subscription to The Nation, citing the Hitch and his unfailing logic and how he would be stunned to read such a piece of blatantly shilling garbage.
His Iraq war support had mostly to do with Salman Rushdie and the censorship of writers, but I agree that it was not his finest moment. Hell, no one is perfect, but I just love reading him. He was a "darling" of the right for a while when "No One Left to Lie To: The Triangulations of William Jefferson Clinton" came out, and even my Tea Bag mother asked me if I'd ever read Hitch. At that time, I had not, but I have read a lot of his stuff. That one is an eye opening book, along with "The Trial of Henry Kissinger" and "God is Not Great."
While Joan may be getting the last laugh now, we can hope karma catches up to these people one day.
