Fuckwads mostly win in San Diego

First the good news: Proposition I to raise the minimum wage won handily in Americas Finest City.

The City Council approved San Diego’s wage hike about two years ago in an action hotly contested by the area’s business community, which conducted a signature drive that forced the issue onto the ballot. This election was the first locally since the referendum qualified for the ballot.

Also, a measure to increase infrastructure spending passed, which is good, but not nearly enough.

Opponents contend that his system won’t raise nearly enough money to dent a backlog of maintenance and capital projects estimated at several billion dollars and will tie the budgetary hands of future mayors and City Council members.

Now the bad news, besides going for Her 55/44 percent.

Mayor Kevin Faulconer will be reelected mayor, because he got more than 50% of the vote, beating out Independent (and Berniecrat) Lori Saldana and Dem Ed Harris. This dickweed out-spent his opponents 40:1 with outside money from fossil fuels, tobacco, pharma. . . all the usual dirty characters. Fuckwad.

(R) Incumbent US Reps. Issa (Fuckwad, 49th) and Hunter (Fuckwad, 50) kicked ass in the open primaries. Fuckwads. So did Juan Vargas (D, 51), Scott Peters (DINO, Fuckwad, 52) and Susan Davis (D, 53). How does US Congress, with single-digit approval ratings, get 100% rehire? Hoping for some overturns in General.

And there is no surf. Not happy today. Sad

Well, they wasted all that money on buying Mayor Pothole...he'll be so busy bending over for Alex Spanos he won't have time for anything else.

San Diego House Dems are so shitty they might as well be republican.

do with suppressing the vote for Sanders? Just think what it did for down ballot...

just as they intended. They wanted/needed Bernie out. They haven't been able to stop the people, so they did this to stop many from voting. They've been doing it in every primary.

I am aware of the suppression, but the OP was about how the down ballot races went. The suppression of Sanders' supporters would surely have affected down ballot as well. That is why I keep suggesting that in November there is a huge GOTV effort that works on down ballot and votes None of the Above for president.

San Diego, all of Orange County, has always been RW territory with the exception of the surfers. As a kid I used to go to San Onofry with my surfing brother and his gremmie pals . We would hike through the marine base land to get to the beach and waves. It felt dangerous and was big fun. My grandmother lived in south Laguna beach and we lived there in the summers. We took trips all the way down to Mazatlan for good waves. I did like Oceanside it was a whole different kettle of fish from Coronado beach. Haven't been back for 20 years when we spent our honeymoon in Laguna. I have great memories of the California coast in Orange county. Prefer to keep those in my mind and heart rather then deal with the reality that is CA these days.

I'm shocked to find out that "There are APPROXIMATELY 285000 Mail / Provisional ballots still to be counted"

That is more than the approximate 250K votes that have been counted.
