The Weekly Watch

Out With the Old, In With the New

Open Thread Image.jpg

The years seem to fly by, and this one is no exception. However this may be a seminal year, and next year points to a major shift in world power and alliances. Will the future bode better or worse? We will see. What do you see as the big stories of the year, and the likelihood of our collective future? I make my prognostications below the fold and hope you'll add yours in the comments. No matter our views, I wish us all the happiest of the new year!

Has the ship already sailed?

Do we already have a one world government?

CHAPTER TWO — THE ROAD WE’RE ON

I do believe the 2020 covid-19 pandemic revealed a provable global conspiracy. Most folks think the conspiracy was intended to engineer a one-world government. But I wonder if we’re way beyond that. I think the pandemic may provide irrefutable evidence that WE ALREADY HAVE A ONE-WORLD GOVERNMENT. A secretive, hidden, elusive one-world government.

Album of the Week - 12-31-22

Afternoon folks!

Happy almost New Year's Eve!

I've got some more music for you to end the year in style with. First up is Chicago blues mandolin player Yank Rachell playing some classic blues. Next is the recently departed New Orleans blues guitarist, Walter "Wolfman" Washington. Then there's the left-coast chromatic harmonica wizard, William Clarke followed by some rock and roll by Ten Years After. There's a Van Morrison live double-album after that and we finish up with some serious fingerpicking by Merle Travis and Chet Atkins.

You guys have a great one and I'll see you next year. Heh.

Friday Night Photos Mov'n At Warp Speed Edition

Happy Friday everyone. Post any photos, memes, or music you like.

Another new year is a few days away and I haven't even made a New Years resolution (that will be broken before the end of January) yet. As each new year gets here faster and faster it seems like we're moving at warp speed. And while the last few years have been pretty bleak and the future isn't looking all that rosy I'm still holding out hope that smarter heads will prevail and put us on a path to a brighter future. Best wishes in the new year to everyone here at C99. May your resolutions last beyond January.
