Never Again is now Global movie

I just watched part 1 and it blew me away. Vera Sharav, who fortunately survived the Holocaust, answers questions about the holocaust then and now, slavery and compliance. Orphans were taken from the camp and put on a boat to somewhere she refused to go on it and the Nazis blew it up that night. She learned to trust her feelings about things and that is why she has not gotten jabbed.

A love letter from New Zealand to Bob Marley

There’s a documentary on TVNZ, When Bob Came, which explores the cultural and political impact Bob Marley’s 1979 visit to New Zealand had on this country, and still lives strongly. It’s free if you log in to TVNZ, but I totally understand that most won’t be inclined to. But for those enduring Bob Marley fans it will be a treat.

Album of the Week - 2-4-23

Afternoon folks!

This week I've got a couple of good harmonica blues albums from James Cotton and a compilation of (Little) George ("Harmonica") Smith's early recordings. Then there's a mess of blues rock from Roy Buchanan, Carlos Santana and Buddy Miles, Hot Tuna and Bonnie Bramlett. Following that, there's another Richard & Linda Thompson album and finally there's some serious prog rock from Lenny White (from Return To Forever, for those of you following along in the hymnals) - Al DiMeola makes an appearance on the album.

Take care and have a great weekend everybody!

Welcome to Saturday's Potluck - 2-4-2023

This past week was the 2 year anniversary of the military coup in Myanmar. Or as the State Department refers to the country Burma. A National Unity Government has been established outside the country and has control of the United Nations seat for Myanmar. Military efforts have not been as well supported by the international community.

"Don't Run Joe" is thin soup

I just received an email from "RootsAction" with a silly "Q & A" for one of its pet causes, "Don't Run Joe," a piece of pleading before the emperor which aims to persuade Joe Biden not to run for re-election. This stuff is pretty thin soup -- they could, for instance, run someone now against him, or, better yet, run a whole slate intended to get the worst few hundred offenders out of the Federal government.
