Which is how I discovered Cynicism. Be warned, this delves into philosophy, a topic greatly reviled and treated as a matter only for the lazy and those that avoid work.
Twelve years ago I started college with the hope that I might be able to work around my disabilities, and as of now, I still have jack shit to show for it besides two pieces of paper and two 3 month contract jobs through Voc Rehab doing work the actual employees didn't want to do themselves (and photo/video ops...gotta make the employer look better than they actually are.). Roughly 5 years after these contracts ended, I still can't be placed in a permanent job anywhere.

Pessimism vs. Optimism
Like those in the valley behind us, most people stand in sight of the spiritual mountains all their lives and never enter them, being content to listen to others who have been there and thus avoid the hardships.
As I was tuning in the good ol' YouTube for something to listen to, I encountered this sweet little tune. It was originally written by Timmy Thomas in 1972; but this cover by the immortal Sade is recognized as being the best one. It's called "Why can't we be together". The lyrics tell why I made an Essay out of it:

This essay may be speculation. But, there is valid documentation and my personal observations of local weather suggest it. The key element, however, is that it is a missing link.
I've always been mystified why the bombs that America drop bring harmony, security, freedom and love. While the bombs that other nations drop bring death and destruction.
Why doesn't everyone use American freedom bombs? Do they not like the rainbow-farting unicorns that our bombs create?
