Dust.
I don't get it. Where does it come from? And why is it in my house? I don't think I indulge in any egregiously slobular dust-generating behaviors here. And at present it's freaking cold outside, so the windows are all shut, which means it can't get in that way. And yet, here it is. Everywhere.
Why?
Although many Congressional Republicans have talked about ending the Mueller probe (a dicey prospect at this time for purely political reasons having nothing to do with an actual Trump crime), finally someone is refusing to obey a Mueller subpoena.

I'm tired of progressives tied to the democratic party ignoring the killing and destruction, including of our own country, of U.S. imperialism.

I missed the furious debate in the comments of last week's essay by gjohnsit, The Free Trade Lie Is Exposed. Ironically, I missed joining in because of an effect of free trade: the crappification of everything. My laptop appeared to have finally blown its power supply.
The Doomsday Clock was moved 2 minutes to midnight, the worst it has been since the 1950's, and still the Democrats insist on beating the drums of war.
Scott Ritter has a great piece over at Truthdig about Putin's speech, especially the part about the Russian government's repeated efforts to engage the United States in negotiations over nuclear weapons agreements since we withdrew from the ABM Treaty. Ritter likens the efforts to Verizon's commercials in which a caller asks repeatedly, "Can you hear me now?"
