Either the ruling class is getting sloppy and lazy or the American people are just getting dumber. Because these phony conspiracy theories have become transparent.
For the Democrats it was Russia being able to overturn our election based on puppy memes on Facebook.

Senator Ted Cruz wants to protect you from terrorism.
Dr. Roberts is an economist who had a cabinet level position under Reagan. His writing often has a rightwing slant, but he is an honest rightwinger (a paleocon?). He also has a distinct anti-Israel bias. Yet here he is begging the Left to rescue itself.
Here's the bibliography of Charlottesville essays I wrote. Use them to frame the following discussion of the rife bullshit of the DNC. No, this time it isn't RUSSIA RUSSIA RUSSIA. It's Antifa and black bloc.
How ‘Antifa’ Mirrors the ‘Alt-Right’
I can only say that I have a lot of respect of Chris Hedges as a writer and intellectual. Honest to the bones, imo.
I have never seen anything like the circus surrounding Charlottesville. The neoliberal corporate media is stoking the fires by letting both sides say outrageous things - the same way the police stoked the riots by standing aside and refusing to do their jobs. The two sides seem to be the standard far right and a newly minted FAKE far left calling itself antifa.
OK, so…in the aftermath of Charlottesville…I am observing a couple of things…both pretty darn odd and unsettling. So this is a two-parter piece.
The first involves a rather patronizing dynamic of Prog Media personalities urging us not to ‘fall for the trap’ of C'ville. The warning is usually delivered along the lines of:
Charlottesville and before it, Berkeley, were the scenes of bloody confrontation. In the former instance a premeditated murder (or manslaughter with reckless indifference) occurred. In the latter, one example was a demonstrator being hit in the head by a University Professor with a bicycle lock and chain.
This is the Summer of Hate, about which I wrote only a few days ago.
As predicted by perhaps a large number of observers, this summer is going to be violent. In fact it already is violent. And becoming more so.
