Disability Caucus 7/23/16: Welfare 'Reform' and Food Stamp Sanctions

Life is hell when you're disabled and the possibility of a decent, sustainable job is anything but open to you. It's even worse when you have to spend month after month submitting tons and tons of job searches and 'education' activities that do nothing to actually improve the situation. Worst of all, if you miss anything by even ONE day, you face the strong possibility of being 'sanctioned': That is, you're cut off from food stamps for one month. And that's just the first delinquency.

When you realize Clinton renders people morally bankrupt

Yesterday at DKOS I posted about Welfare Reform - between 500K and 1 million were going to lose food stamps.

I noted that Welfare Reform was almost never discussed. Two front pagers responded.

Jen Haydon said that they had. I asked for a Link.

MB responded much later and said it had been critiqued. I asked when. His response; "Several Years:

It flies below radar — seldom mentioned or discussed. Never, IIRC, on the front page here.

Welfare Reform — the ultimate New Democrat policy. But because Welfare policy is complicated, and only effect poor people little is said about it. And yet Welfare Reform is the policy that keeps targeting poor people.
