At my job we don’t talk much about politics. It’s officially frowned upon now, because some people apparently got offended from overhearing some other people dissing a candidate, politician, or party that they like, and complained about it to management. Who responded with a vague, passive aggressive missive in the employee newsletter about “respecting everyone’s beliefs and points of view” and to avoid divisive topics “such as politics” in our casual office chatter.
