TSA

T.S.A.--too stupid for America

My own experiences with TSA have not been stellar. One of my daughters with type 1 diabetes has an insulin pump, replete with doctor's prescription for same--but she wasn't allowed to board plane until it had already left the terminal. Needless to say, we did not get on the plane because of the delay caused by morons who could not read TSA regulations, which we had brought printed from their web site with us to the terminal to avoid the ensuing fiasco.

And now a word from the people that brought you the TSA

I'm going to try to limit my outrage to two episodes per day--but I'm sadly failing. Maybe, I'll just have to take some of that stuff Hillary uses on her private jet. This article is a tribute to the same organization that brought us 3 hour waits for "security screenings", enough time for those well-vetted baggage-handlers to throughly pilfer your belongings.

TSA Institutionalizes discrimination against trans folk

The Transportation Security Administration has identified the greatest danger to your travel: it's us transgender people.

TSA officials announced a new (and they say, final) rule that sets forth the discrimination we are due and you should be be safer with.

The rule implements the widespread use of body-scan technology which requires a TSA agent to choose a pink or blue button based on the perceived gender of the person traveling through U.S. airports. Transgender people, as a result of the policy’s gender bias, are stopped by TSA agents and forced to undergo pat downs and inspections of genital areas and chests.

Dem. Representatives petition the TSA on behalf of trans passengers

In the wake of the September 21 harassment by TSA officers of transgender women Shadi Petosky at Orlando International Airport for having a "genital anomaly", 32 members of Congress have demanded answers from Transportation Security Chief Peter Neffenger.

While we understand the importance of vigilant airport security, we cannot countenance a security protocol that subjects transgender travelers to this level of indignity. To that end, we urge TSA to complete a thorough review of its current procedures and address any shortcomings that may, however unintentionally, subject transgender travelers to inequitable or improper treatment by security personnel.
