Federal Judge: Bathroom Ban violated Title VII

Bradley Roberts is a police officer in Clark County, Nevada. He has worked for the Clark County School District for 20 years. He is also a transgender man.

Officials at the Clark County School District told Roberts, who was working for the District as a resource officer that since he was born female but identifies as male, he could not use either the men's or women's bathrooms at work, but would be required to use a gender neutral bathroom.

Something you can do

We are waiting for a decision by SCOTUS on whether it will hear the appeal by Gloucester County School District in the case G.G. v GCSD.

The school division filed a petition on Aug. 29 asking the high court to determine if it is violating federal law by refusing to allow Grimm access to the boys' restrooms. It will be one of the petitions discussed in this week's Friday conference, where the justices decide which cases to accept and which to reject.

2016 to shatter record

Five days ago Brandi Bledsoe, a 32-year-old transgender woman, was found dead on a driveway in Cleveland in only her underwear with plastic bags over her head and hands.

The body was discovered by a 5-year-old boy who was out riding his bike with his 12-year-old brother.

Police have disclosed that Brandi suffered head trauma. They also initially misgendered the victim.

Her death is a suspected homicide, but the medical examiner has not offered an official ruling on how she died.

Investigators will take her transgender status into consideration in the investigation. The investigation is in its early stages and it's too early to determine of motive for Bledsoe's death.
