It seems like just yesterday that I published a diary about three retired generals (all women) counseled Defense Secretary Jim Mattis to push forward against conservative attempts to end all transgender military service.

Three retired generals have spoken up in favor of the acceptance of transgender recruits into the military.

Retired Army Lt. Gen. Claudia Kennedy, Army Maj. Gen. Gale Pollock, and Army Brig. Gen. Clara Adams-Ender have written a statement:

One of the really upsetting things about police and news media misgendering transgender murder victims is that we often miss the news entirely.

The American College Health Association met in Austin, TX at the end of last week for their annual meeting. On Friday the campus health professionals discussed how to effect change on their campuses to make them more inclusive for transgender students.

The Michigan Appeals Court has ruled 3-0 that Yvette Cormier has no claim against Planet Fitness over its transgender-inclusive policies.

Back in 2015 Cormier encountered a transgender woman in a locker room. She decided that she needed to repeatedly warn all other women in the establishment. Planet Fitness responded by revoking her membership.

In a spate of recent rulings, district and circuit courts have held that anti-discrimination laws in education and employment extend protections to transgender people.

Candia, New Hampshire includes the villages of Candia, Candia Four Corners and East Candia. Total population is less than 4,000.

Thursday night, the School Board hosted a hearing to gather public input on its transgender policy. The hearing was forced by a warrant article approved 518-335 at this year's town meeting.

Wisconsin was the first state to provide legal protection from discrimination for LGB people. That happened in 1982. But the state has never sought to include transgender people as well.

If a miracle occurs and the bill actually passes, Wisconsin would become the 20th state to ban discrimination against transgender people.

Austin transgender woman Christi Long has supported herself by working as a drag queen known as Christi Foxx Paris. Last Sunday she was raped and beaten with a hammer after she refused to have sex with a man she thought was a friend.

I can’t help feeling that – because I’m trans, I’m less valuable.
