At the G7 meeting a diplomatic resolution was reached with Turkey. Turkey withdrew its objection to the two countries joining Nato.

I know Sweden valued it's non aligned reputation and was one of, and often the only country allowed to run humanitarian programs in closed communist countries such as Vietnam and Laos.

We see and hear selected news bits about and/or from Sweden at non-periodic intervals as fits various narratives. Thanks to Boing-Boing I found this article today. I'm pretty much just providing the information without comment, in part because I wont be here after 10:00 and don't want to post this before that because weekly watch is up and, as always, deserves attention and primacy. At any rate:

On this board, I have read it asserted that Sweden did lock down and that is the only reason why their numbers improved. This false assertion is apparently based on a law that was passed early in 2021 that would allow the government to impose the same orders imposed in most of the rest of the world, but this law was not enforced beyond a few small measures.

A couple of weeks ago, I posted the latest stats from Sweden to show that whatever they did "wrong" according to Team Lockdown was working better than whatever we are doing here in the USA, by an extreme margin -- a death rate six times higher in the USA for the previous week.

The short form? Think Dakota, either one. It's bad and looking to get worse.

I never understood what that was supposed to mean, but most of the world was experiencing the long predicted and very serious Second Wave and Sweden saw a dramatic increase in both cases and deaths.
