What is the purported popularity of Congress--both R & D? About 15%--maybe.

MSM is more disrespected every day (only 39% of adults believe MSM trustworthy).

What is the utility of an average congressional committee meeting? Close to nothing except to compose talking points.

How much do the Suits (lawyers)get paid per hour for keeping their poor schmo client outta jail? Lots more than any of us.

Leaving? Over a different point of View? Really?!?

I noticed JtC’s comment on a certain subject about folks packing up and checking out of this site over contentiousness in discussions.
Huh? I actually believed this site was For Those With Opposing Views.
If you’re gonna get Huffy ‘cause someone disagrees with you, Maybe you.should rethink your claims of Not being a Snowflake and what you really expect out of this Site.

Class and the White Trash Revolution (WTR)

Middle- and upper-class America are desperately fighting the WTR, just as they have historically always fought off White Trash demands for justice and fairness. And it is true that there is no guarantee at this date that the WTR will not descend into fascism. Certainly, many of the same xenophobic and fascist elements are similar to the 1930s.

Transgender Awareness Week -- Bathroom Break

The recent spate of stories about the transgender teen in Palatine, IL has, among other things, drawn some real exhibition of lack of understanding...one might even call it ignorance...on the part of some of those commenting. It's the sort of thing one might expect to find from the right-wing commentariat rather than at Daily Kos.

It has made me question whether the 11 years I have spent posting at DK have done anything good whatsoever.

Tuesday's Editorial at WaPo An Illinois high school’s tragic discrimination against a transgender student serves a couple of necessary purposes beyond what I have written or what Kerry Eleveld has written about the situation.

First of all it will be read by more people. Secondly, it includes some facts previously not mentioned.

The writer begins by decrying the fear-mongering, which is good. When it comes to trans people, the Fearmongers Shoppe is always open.
