Open Thread - 12/29/23 - Resolutions and Predictions for the New Year

I resolve to put up a deer feeder, (I am a Bambi freak). I have had several chats with former deer hunters who suddenly laid down their deer rifles. On a day in their lives, their shame and guilt finally set in, they wanted to feed them, wanted them to thrive. One of those guys killed 66 deer in one year. His only saving grace is that all of them were eaten by poor families who had no source of meat otherwise. Still, he is not happy about his accomplishment. He feeds deer now. People do evolve.

Pre-election Predictions Perilously Pernicious to Democrats

Talk is cheap. Thus the following essay is offered with no expectation of financial reward. I will publish my MidTerm prognostications and invite other swampers to do the same. In view of the fact that none of us has absolutely ANY facts to back up your predictions--yet--please submit your guesses in the comment section. Then--and only then--if you are correct, YOU will get an opportunity to baffle us all with brilliance while explaining your methodology.

A humble attempt at Fortune Telling.

I'm not usually very good at predicting the future. I mean, I can see trends, and sometimes my brain works faster than I'm conscious of, resulting in gut feelings. But for some reason, today I feel like making a few very specific predictions about the next 3 years. Feel free to chime in with what you think as well.

Hell, it will be funny to look back on this in three years and be amazed at how crazy I thought the future would be.
