South African expert seems to be saying that Omicron is a very mild strain of Covid, but its entirely possible that it may hold unexpected surprises

The president of the South African Medical Association (Angelique Coetzee) said that patients infected with Omicron had mild symptoms. They did not lose their sense of smell or taste which may be a sign that the strain does not kill nerve cells or invade the brain.
