Tulsi Update: March 28, 2019 (Donor Status, Los Angeles Stop, Polls)

UPDATE MARCH 30: Tulsi has had to move her appearance in Los Angeles today because they needed a larger venue. Too many people expected! There are 1,734 guests expected on her Facebook page, but typically that number is inflated. She might be expecting half that, which would still be very good.

Vandalism at LGBT Centers

When employees and volunteers at the Los Angeles LGBT Center arrived at work Friday, they discovered that one wall of a Center facility at Ed Gould Plaza (near Santa Monica Blvd. and Highland) had been defaced. Between 9 and 10 pm on Thursday night someone had spray painted an outer wall with graffiti: Fuck Trannies...Fuck all y'all.

we don't need to rent our arms to anybody
in order to be able to lift
a piece of bread to our mouths.

Why The Fight Is Worth The Effort

This morning, while preparing breakfast, I noticed an elderly woman sifting through the trash bin behind my neighbor’s house. She wore a broad rimmed hat; her shoulders were stooped, her back bent, and when she walked it was easy to see she could only move with great difficulty.

I was dressed in P.J.s, and by the time I had finished dressing and made it outside to see if she needed help she had moved on. But I have replayed the scene inside my head all day.
