Little Sonny

Album of the Week 5-3-25

Afternoon folks!

There's some great tunes here for you this week, starting with one of my favorite blues guitarists, Earl Hooker who was an amazing slide player and inventive player generally. After that we've got what I think is blues harmonica player Little Sonny's best album, a good listen. After that, Roy Buchanan, an amazing guitarist at the peak of his career, 2 sets recorded live. After that are albums from DC area guitarist, Tom Principato and one from John Mooney an interesting slide player who studied with Son House. Finishing up in the diversity department, there's an album from the Marshall Tucker Band.

Enjoy the tunes and have a great weekend!

Album of the Week 2-22-25

Afternoon folks!

It's a blue, blue week. Starting off we have an album from harmonica ace Little Sonny, followed by a double album delta blues compilation of Charley Patton recordings from the days of noisy 78's - there are a couple of cuts that were blocked by some German company that bought up the rights to a couple of 90+ year old tunes that should by all rights be in the public domain but for our bought-off, coin-op congress. After that there's an album of Chicago blues from multi-instrumentalist Maurice John Vaughn and a Robert Cray album. Following that we've got some John Hammond and we finish up with some reggae from Bob Marley.

Enjoy the tunes and have a great weekend!
