Afternoon folks!

This week it's something of a mix. Starting off is an album from Whispering Smith, a harmonica player and singer from the swamp pop label Excello, followed by a Texas piano player, Little Willie Littlefield. After that it's an album from Piedmont blues guitarist John Jackson and then it's on to an earlyish in the career album from The Steve Miller Band. We finish up with an album of some amusing rock and roll from The Beat Farmers.

This week we're starting off acoustic with an album from a great Piedmont blues guitarist, John Jackson, followed by an album split between two delta musicians, Son House (early recordings, when he was in his prime!) and J.D. Short. After that we move on to a double live album from Buddy Miles, recorded just after he had been working with Jimi Hendrix. Following that is a greatest hits album from my favorite Motown group, The Temptations. Finishing us off this week in the diversity department is an album of psychedelic wonderment from The 13th Floor Elevators - this is a modern pressing that removes the less-than-satisfactory applause track from a boxing match that was imposed on the original release of the album to make it sound like a live album, which is a big improvement in my book.

This week we start out with a couple of albums from blues harmonica players, Snooky Pryor and Sam Myers, followed by some serious acoustic country blues from John Jackson. After that there's Gil Scott-Heron's double album of jazz and blues from the bicentennial era. Then it's on to blues-rock with two albums featuring guitarist Peter Green, the first at his peak from his tenure in John Mayall's Bluesbreakers and then a late career album from him. Finishing us up is an album of prog rock from Gentle Giant.

This week we have some great acoustic blues for you. Starting out we've got a compilation of delta slide guitar wizard Tampa Red's 78's from the 20's and 30's. Following that is a nice album of Piedmont Blues from John Jackson. After that, we go electric with Beaumont, Texas' Phillip Walker followed by an early (1969) Chambers brothers album. Then it's on to blues-rock with a live album from Canned Heat which may have a cut that is not available in the U.S. - if you have a vpn, you can probably get it. After that, we've got some straight rock from an EP I found laying around in my old 45's from Be Bop Deluxe, and we finish off with an album from Redbone which features their big hit. You'll probably recognize the hit when you hear it, though you might not remember the title or the band.
