A Constitutional Umbrella for a Progressive Coalition

Back in 2015, I proposed a “Declaration of Rights And Grievances” [link is to TOP] for the Progressive Movement, having in mind the Declarations of earlier American political movements. Here's the Constitutional basis for that proposal, and how I believe it can unify our movement.

We Cannot Compromise on the American Vision: Equality for All

There’s been a conflict in this country ever since the era which gave it birth: a conflict between those who have wanted to maintain traditions of privilege and domination, and those who have wanted a country which treats its citizens equally, and guarantees equal rights for all. The vision of equality has prevailed in the conflict thus far, but only by the sustained effort and sacrifice of its citizens.

Land Of The Free and other myths

We are in the Land Of The Free.
How do I know that? It's in the song.
Just look at all the flags, and lapel pins, and just ask any conservative. They'll tell you this place is free.

There's just one problem: it's all bullshit.
Americans a) don't know what freedom is, and b) want no part of actually being free.

I'm going to break this down one civil right at a time.

Stepping backward on civil rights at HHS

Roger Severino most recently was director of the DeVos Center for Religion and Civil Society at the Heritage Foundation, where he concerned himself with "religious liberty, marriage and life issues." But the Trump Administration has been staffing itself with Heritage people, so Severino has been chosen to be director of the Office of Civil Rights at HHS.

Ok. I am so upset about Puerta Rico I can't sleep.

The Democrats are now run by sociopaths. They don't believe in fair elections or the right to vote, and neither does Hillary. Hillary is a poisonous, power hungry ogre. I won't vote for her ever, ever ever. I won't vote for anyone that supports her. She is violating the civil right of thousands of Americans. As usual they are smearing Sanders accusing him of their crimes.
