Back in July I noted how the center-right parties were running into trouble around the world.

The center-left, the dominant political ideology since the end of WWII, is threatening to be snuffed out of existence all over the western world.

The center-left has been collapsing across the western world for about a decade now. In many European nation, the center-left has largely ceased to exist. It even has a name: Pasokification.

I've pointed out here and here how the political center-left has been absolutely routed all over the western world in recent years.
This has been due entirely to the close embrace of neoliberalism from parties that were founded on the premise of protecting the working class.

With Emmanuel Macron’s election in France and the rejection of the far-right Marine Le Pen, the neoliberal establishment breathed a sigh of relief. The populist backlash was "over". It was time to crank out more privatization, austerity, and increased military spending.

The destruction of the centrist Democrats in the U.S., Blue Dog Democrats in particular, is well known. What isn't talked about as much is how the center-left is being routed all over the western world.

His political failure strongly resembles the demise of the Democrats.
