An Open Letter from BLM Inland Empire

‘BREAKING: Black Lives Matter Inland Empire Announces Departure from BLM Global Network’, Feb. 4, 2021 by leftoutmag.com (my bolds)

“Recently, a group of BLM chapters known as the BLM 10 has come forward to voice their concerns and opposition to the Global Network. Those concerns, along with the egregious conduct the Global network demonstrated on Dr. Martin Luther King’s birthday, have brought us to the conclusion that continuing to remain silent would be an act of betrayal. While the issues and problems that have been raised have been well known within our circle for years, it prompted many questions & concerns for us locally. We’d like to let the community know everything outlined in the statement put out by the BLM 10 is valid. We’ve also reached out to the BLM 10 and offered to sign on in support. Hopefully, we can provide insight and clarification into our chapter’s history, our relationship with the global network, and our commitments going forward.

Trump’s War on Coronavirus, Nicolas Maduro, & other Terr’ists

This is Trump’s daily briefing on the coronavirus on Wednesday by way of: ‘A bold muscular/kinetic deflection’.

RT.com provides a partial transcriptt:

Connecting the Dots

This is an op-ed by John Steppling from Dec. 21, 2019 at off-guardian.org for your consideration.  We’d been discussing both capitalism and climate change recently, and although this all seems so utterly beside the point now given the ever-increasing US threats to increased war on Iran (now even nuclear war).  But I’d said I’d post it, so I am; I’ll offer a couple things at the end.  As John’s kindly given me permission to republish all that he writes, I’ll post it all.

Capitalists are no more capable of self-sacrifice than a man is capable of lifting himself up by his own bootstraps.”

Howie Hawkins for President; updated: Coup afoot in VZ

breaking at RT.com:
'WATCH tear gas fired on highway near Caracas air base where Guaido appeared in video with soldiers' goddam the troika of tyrrany.

This is longish, but given it’s mainly policy positions, it’s fairly easy to scan, stop on topics you’d choose for closer reading.  Howie’s website is here.  He’s an actual anti-imperialist socialist candidate, and I like his socialist policies a lot:

Key Economic Sectors to Socialize:

Scurrying Fascist Cockroaches

…is the title of a recent essay of John Steppling’s, and I contacted him at his website  (http://john-steppling.com/) to ask if given its length and breadth if I might use more of it than is strictly Fair Use as neither the Café nor c99% are for profit.  He wrote back and kindly said, “Use what you want from any of my writings”.  So I’ll most all of his Feb. 25 essay at DissidentVoice, although there’s a version at Counterpunch as well.
It may not be an easy read for those who are uncomfortable reading about the clay feet of the political heroes of the realm, nor for those who are blind to how Capital Rules the Realm.  You might want to consider this essay as a one-hour class you’ve decided to check out, and stay and hang on for the ride; he’s an excellent writer as well as playwright and director as well; he writes from Norway, not far from the Arctic Circle.

Now On with the Play!

Two short films from ‘Dispatches from Resistant Mexico’

How often do we speak of true grassroots democracy, self-determination, and the evils of capitalism?  There are other autonomous zones in Mexico, but when NAFTA took effect in 1994, the Zapatistas rose up, and created their own autonomous  democracy in Chiapas, so they were arguably the original model. Their struggles never end, but they are indomitable.

Both films are from Roar Magazine, ‘an independent journal of the radical imagination providing grassroots perspectives from the front-lines of the global struggle for real democracy’.
