I guess that I've spent way too much time picking maitake mushrooms lately. The clouds look like the florals that the fungus produces.
Or, should I have said "Absolutely delicious"?

Regardless of the path in life I chose, I realize it's always forward, never straight.
i was really surprised at how close that grasshopper allowed me to come to him. i thought for sure that he would jump off as soon as i clicked the shutter, but he allowed me to get to within 6 inches of him and shoot pictures. he was still on the flower when i walked away.
I took a pic of an enormous slug on the dooryard beech. Still in camera, waiting to get all my lost files updated. And whatever the problem, blame the Russians. Not.

Hey! my dear friends or soon-to-be's, JtC could use the donations to keep this site functioning for those of us who can still see the life preserver or flotsam in the water.

I need my other camera so I can play with the depth of field because I can't get the details of the tree. It's crooked but the picture doesn't show how unique it is.
Again I need my other camera for these pics.
The arch is for cremated remains
I took this with my first camera that I could afford which was a canon 4mp from the Sausalito boardwalk and I wish I could return with my canon 40 D SLR and 28-300 lense.
This is Alcatraz lighthouse and the full moon and San Francisco.
My research into cameras became confusing, so I decided to just stick with my small point-and-shoot compact camera for now. I don’t know how ‘serious’, or not, I want to get yet. I looked and handled a few at the camera shop, and I quite like a variety of fujifilm cameras. My first digital camera, which I used for years was a compact fujifilm camera. I always liked it’s sensitivity and quality at low light. There's even one that looks and feels similar to a Nikon FM film camera, and has more similar manual adjustment, which I really like.
If I can just figure out how to keep the brightest areas from blowing out with my canon compact; and/or use the camera’s limitations (and my own, technically) to an advantage.
Experimenting ...
Do you want me to post a friday night thread next week? I do appreciate your keeping things going, and if I can help, let me know.

Are you sure it's a cricket?
Could it be a small Russian drone, investigating the slug situation?
