Not The Evening Blues Special Edition Tonight
Submitted by enhydra lutris on Sat, 05/23/2015 - 12:32pm
There will be a special edition of Not The Evening Blues tonight featuring Country Joe and The Fish, with News, Opinion, Commentary, Evening Greens and the like. There will be a cameo by Phil Ochs.
It won't be up to Joe's and Johnny's standards, but there will be something to fill the gap.
Y'all come.

Duh - that's on Daily Kos, like the real ones, not here

I'll look forward to it.
Not sure exactly what's on my schedule tonight, but I'll make a point to at least drop by. Moral support, if nothing else.
Thanks - see you there

Far out man
The individual has always had to struggle to keep from being overwhelmed by the tribe. If you try it, you will be lonely often, and sometimes frightened. But no price is too high to pay for the privilege of owning yourself. - Friedrich Nietzsche -
Bravo, I love Phil Ochs, unsung hero
and it looks like slim pickings on Daily Kos. Can you imagine what Phil Ochs would write about today, where would he start?
Marriage equality: As a divorced person, I don't get the emphasis on it. Mine was a failure. Of course marriage should be legal if people want it but marriage in general is in decline. The same situation exists with allowing gay people to become ministers while church attendance is declining. Is it that people fighting for these civil rights are allowed to have them when they are no longer that meaningful to the majority?
To thine own self be true.
A little ironic isn't it.
Hey, we finally can get married but now nobody else wants to do it.
Kind of like fighting for the right to serve in the military. Ya, what did you really win?
It makes people happy so I guess I am a meanie
for looking at the facts.
To thine own self be true.
Only one tune by Phil, one that isn't as well known.

In a few year's they'll be voting. Yay.
Only 30% of them.
Marraige, religion and voting are all yesterday. Have three grandsons - 18, 19, 21- not a one of them registered to vote. Workung to get them interested in Bernie. Legal pot and free education - something for our youth besides jail and military.
