Today my friends, in random sequence, I present to you, more of my semi-cognitional meanderings.
- You can't use conventional methods of understanding to understand non-conventional thinking. Sane people don't understand insane people. Logical people don't understand illogical people. Conventional, sane and logical thinking doesn't cut it with when analyzing a non-conventional, insane, and illogical politician or government. That's where a lot of political analysts, experts and talking heads get it wrong when they suggest that they've got this shit all figured out. It's like getting in the mud and wrestling with a pig.
- If you're familiar with my presidential leap frog theory, and if it has any legs (yuk, yuk), then allow me make a prediction: They are setting the game up again. If you think this administration is nuts, wait until you see the next one. It oughtta be a doozy.
- The answer that ties everything together is depopulation: the wars, the destroying of oil refineries and oil wells, the war on farming, poison food, poison water, runaway inflation, lack of fertilizer, unaffordable health care, the push for civil war, nutrient deficient soils, wildfires lit by arsonists, screw worms, ebola, avian flu, the proliferation of bio-labs, pollution, manifold divide and conquer tactics, the culling of cattle herds, importing tainted and unregulated meat, on and on. Once you accept that, it all starts to makes sense.
- I suspect a few billionaires have decided the world and the future belongs to them, but the thing is though, you're not invited. They apparently have been convinced that with the advance of drugs and technology that they'll live to be at least two hundred years old or longer, maybe even live forever, and they'll need the remaining oil and other resources left on the planet for themselves. Oh, and all of your wealth too.

I'm too old to feel like the dogs pictured in your opening comment. I'm pragmatically cynical and my motto is the old, universal one: Hope for the Best, Expect the Worse. Give otc a hug, and glad to see you posting. I see age and the "good" old Cancer Curse got Dolly Parton. She was good people all around, and deserved her success. I'm not a CW fan, but great artists stand out. She was one. Take care.

I feel like that middle dog every time I deal with any government agency, especially the IRS. We get it coming and going. We pay social security tax for most of our lives, only to be taxed on the social security that we collect when we retire. That's double taxation in my book.
I always liked Dolly although I was never a big fan. I always liked the gritty old style country and western, she was more of a pop country artist in my opinion, but there's no denying, she was a great person and a great artist that arose from humble roots, roots that she never forgot.

dem candidate for governor in FL
David Jolly is a "former Republican." LOL. He's against Amendment 3 for property tax relief on real estate for long term state residents. Without this tax relief the real estate market will likely stumble badly. Although not critical yet, as it was in 2008, Florida foreclosure rates on private homes are starting to rise. 1 in 2300 homes are in foreclosure. Prices are falling from the 2021 highs.
So no matter who you vote for, you get a Republican. I never trusted DeSantis, the former JAG who advised torturers at GITMO. Who cares if the old "homesteaders" lose their housing? If you look at CDDs in Florida objectively, they are basically an additional cost of buying, adding maybe 6 to 7 percent to purchase price, a debt that can't be paid in cash upfront by the buyer. This is addition to the government real estate taxes, and the HOA. What's the incentive to buy real estate? You're a renter no matter what you do.
If this Amendment 3 ever gets approved, I'll believe in the tooth fairy. Jolly doesn't want old homeowners to get relief, I don't think the repukes do either. They pretend they do to get through the election cycle. If anything they say they want to give "relief" to new resident suckers coming from out of state. Amend 3 does not change taxes on education assessments. I think one of the resentments by politicians here, is that the tax relief in Amend 3 isn't given to Florida second home owners, and commercial properties. In other words its relief for ordinary people. They act like they are concerned for police and emergency services, yet the governor adopted a new Trump policy of providing police services gratis to enforce federal immigration laws, something they wouldn't do historically. We also have the added burden of providing state assistance, which no one voted for, to enforce indiscriminate ICE sweeps en masse. Typically in the past, any of those in county jails or detention, could only be held for 72 hours, because the federal government won't pay for it.
Hey screw ordinary people right? That's what politicians do.
This country is so screwed, between private health care, insurance and AI, you can't get a test result from one office to another. It's almost impossible to communicate with providers. We spend at least 10 hours a week screwing around with these idiots just for one of us. I'm gonna follow Alan Grayson's prescription for US health care, "stay home and die." I will make my best effort for my other half.

I am voting against the property tax scam. I've lived here so long, I can smell the FRightwingnut BS from miles away. Anything DeSh1tface and the rest of the Tallahassee crooks back makes the decisions real easy. For years I have wanted to get out of this nitwit state, but now, old age and love of family have kept me here. Oh well, c'est la vie et guerre.

the tax bill in Florida and I think you've got it right, it's all for show for the election.
There's a push here in Texas to do away with property taxes in lieu of a state sales tax. There's even a lawsuit that's made it's way to the US Supreme Court, but I highly doubt that it will go anywhere. There's movements like that all over the country, some folks complain that their tax bills are more than their mortgage. Something's got to give.
Real estate is dangling by a thread with foreclosures skyrocketing across the country. It's just one more piece of the poli-crises doom loops that have the potential to bring us all down.
This country is screwed, well we the people are, the top percentile will probably fair well, heck, they'll probably get even richer when the house of cards topples.

Good morning...
Today was a game of pick up sticks (and trees). Been cleaning up trails and pathways. Plus took care of some mowing and weedeating.
Just in to start on household chores. It's always something, but staying active is the trick for health.
Nothing to disagree with in your ramblings. We're screwed on many levels. None the less we can impact our personal lives, and still live life as we choose (at least at home). Of course once I leave the place I'm victim to all the public issues like flock cameras, phone tracking, and so on.
We all know the system is broken...to my mind irreparably. Better to start anew.

My yardwork...
mainly mowing, is on hold for now. We've been hot (around 100 degrees) for several weeks now and the grass is turning brown, so I'll wait for some rain before I mow so I don't burn the grass more than it already is. It's hardly growing anyway except for the annoying bahiagrass, it's a real pain in the ass but cattle and horses love it.
The little town that we live near, with a population of under 1,000, just got its first flock camera. Of course the county mounties requested it, it will help them monitor traffic for offenders of the law, so they say. We drove by it yesterday and it's still standing.
The problem with a crash and starting anew is that's exactly what our so called leaders are expecting, they have big plans for when that happens, and I'm afraid those plans wont be in our favor.
Get ready, cause it's coming.

I gotta agree we all have a little crazy in us, but, I think the love of money mixed with some sociopathy or psychopathy is a prerequisite to becoming a politician, and the stronger the mix the higher up in the institution (pun intended) one can climb.
I gotta admit, though, that the crazy is at an all time high and shows no signs of slowing down. But I suspect that's all part of the psy-op that we call modern society.
