Couple Cooking: Bean disaster!
A did the usual sous chef on the rib eyes, and B did the usual rib eye grilling. A did the usual vegetable cooking, in this instance, green beans, and so on and so forth.
Steaks were just perfect. The green beans, however, were packaged and sold after they would ever be tender and edible. They go to the pasture. They were unfit to cook, much less, eat. Who knew? A was not to blame. (B disagrees, as B hurls the accusation that A cannot recognize good beans. A responds, "They were in a plastic bag!")
A wants to sue someone. B just wants to move on. Very unusual for B. B must not have wanted green beans as much as A.
Dissension did occur whenever A and B were determining when to start, and when to eat, but it did not result in a food fight.
B is just so wonderful, these Couple Cooking events that occur on a daily basis, are just a wonderful thing.
A loves B. B loves A.
Couple Cooking will be the event that gets our adrenaline flowing until we die.

I went to bed with a full stomach
You probably have great restaurants close by.
We have to gut up and cook in these East Texas Piney Woods.

Are we getting a bit mushy? Love you guys!

Agreed about the mushy.

Beans...good for the heart!

I dread the time when A and B have to follow a recipe. That will lead to a lively discussion about reading comprehension.

Our local grocery is the same way
Good meats, horrid veggies. Make the 12 mile drive to a bigger grocery for those. We have a little farm on the mountain that produces pasture raised beef and pork that we prefer, but they have limited supplies.
Hope you're able to have your get away. It's fun to cook in those situations too. We had our first company over on Labor day and had some food and drinks outside with a little fire. It was nice to visit and have a distanced gathering.
All the best. I'll be glad when we can travel again!

I at least attempted heart healthy beans for dinner.
It wasn't a cook goof, and that does mean a whole lot that for future Couple Cooking ventures, A will not be under inordinate scrutiny.
Well, that is not to imply that B doesn't check out A constantly.
This is about Couple Cooking.

Hola otc. I spect that bean season (fresh beans) is long
gone, not in farmers' market for 2+ weeks now, and we belatedly tore all of our plants out a couple of weeks ago even though they were unproductive even before that. It's rapidly becoming frozen veggie time unless you can live with a narrow selectin and a lot of repecition. Carrot coins anyone?
be well and have a good one.
