That, in its essence, is fascism--ownership of government by an individual, by a group, or by any other controlling private power. -- Franklin D. Roosevelt --

because in a world where identity politics rule, the victims having been East Asian tourists in Germany and the perpetrator having been a radicalized Muslim migrant are facts that don’t fit into any of the current political camps’ moralizing, outrage-evoking narratives.
The same goes for the case of the 8-year-old pushed in front of a train in Frankfurt, one year ago this July 29:
I have the two-disc set. He plays wonderfully as always, but his tone is no longer quite so 'round and buttery' and you can tell playing the horn is taking it out of him.

I have the feeling that few care about remembering this incident
because in a world where identity politics rule, the victims having been East Asian tourists in Germany and the perpetrator having been a radicalized Muslim migrant are facts that don’t fit into any of the current political camps’ moralizing, outrage-evoking narratives.

Part of the last performance by Stan Getz (with Kenny Barron) in Copenhagen, a few weeks before his death from cancer.
