It doesn't matter what color you are. If you try to stand up for your rights, cops and quasi-cops will make you suffer. A Michigan man was grabbed from behind with a choke hold while leaving a Royal Oak, MI courthouse after trying to pay a $10 fine with pennies and being refused. In addition to being choked, he was kept in a cell for 24 hours and charged with a felony and a misdemeanor.
Sevy, a 33-year-old real estate broker, went to Royal Oak’s 44th District Court on Feb. 13 to pay a $10 parking ticket. When he was told he had to pay a $1.75 surcharge to use his credit card, he left and came back with pennies.

“As he was leaving the court house with his back to the officer, the court officer began to choke him out, grabbing him, brought him to the ground. Mr. Sevy passed out and defecated himself,” his lawyer, Jonathan Marko, said.

Charged with assaulting an officer and disturbing the peace, Sevy pleaded no contest to the latter charge in a plea agreement to get the more serious felony assault charge dropped.

Yeah, he assaulted that officer with his neck. With his back turned. While peacefully walking out the door.
He's filed a Federal lawsuit, and he'll probably get some money, but the court cops will probably get a promotion and high-fives all around.

Not sure how he could be charged and those so called
officers not. Choke holds should be considered an assault with a deadly weapon, if not attempted murder. Remember Eric Garner? Took about 15 seconds and he was dead. Could probably go on and on with other examples. I've actually been put down twice with choke holds from behind, both times I was completely incapacitated to the point I could not breathe. One time the attacker relented and released when he saw me struggling to breath. The other time, if not for four friends who helped set me free, who knows what would have happened. That one was with an off duty corrections officer trained in the "procedure".
Those court officers should be charged with attempted murder.

They always want you to plead guilty.
Reading the article, I note that the victim has already plead guilty to a crime.
Which means that they'll probably dismiss his lawsuit, because he was guilty of a crime at the time and the officer was merely engaging in a control hold that has been upheld by the courts.
God I wish I wasn't so cynical.

Any talking head on the MSM will happily explain to us that the court officer, rather than being vindictive, was so impressed by a citizen's desire to be compliant with the law, must be in need of a hug. Being so overcome by emotion, what a thoughtful gesture!
Think now, if his fine was $10,000, what a joyous celebration would have ensued!
Yes, this was in Michigan, land of ex-gov. Snyder, Kid Rock and Ted Nugent. With such attractions, it's a wonder that the mass migrations to Alabama in support of Roy "the queers made me do it" Moore aren't reversed toward Amway land.
