WOW! Vice Interview with Charlottesville White Supremisist Leader
If you didn't see Vice (on HBO) last night, you MUST VIEW this 3 min clip. It's an interview with one of the Charlottesville Rally Alt-Right leaders talking about the success of their rally. His cold blooded demeanor even after the murdering Alt-Right thug plowed his car through a crowd of non-violent protesters is jaw dropping.
This is President Adolf Trump's America coming to fruition.
Highlights: (check out how he talks with a crooked smile)
- Shows off all the concealed carry guns he wore to the rally.
- Says no one was killed "unjustly".
- Says about the car killer "someone struck his vehicle" and "he saw no way to get away except to hit the gas". "I think it was more than justified."
- Says about future rallies - "more people are gonna die before we are done here."
- Says about the protesters - "these people want violence and the Alt-Right is just meeting market demand."

There will always be assholes
Just as there will always be cockroaches, no matter how often you call the exterminator. It's just one of the inconvenient facts of life.
Hopefully, the more they talk and reveal themselves as assholes, the more people will start calling them out as assholes (and the less popular they will be).

Calling them an assehole increases their sense of power
Listening to the many interviews on the video one can see the self-satisfaction in any type of negative response. We need to have methods that minimizes their accumulation of power not feeds it or sustains their feeling of self importance.
The Charlottesville event can now be used for years in multiple gathering as inspiration to how they can show their growing power to others.
Unfortunately this is a comment into the void, since I will be away from internet access the rest of the day.

A lot of them are people who thrive on being contrary. If they're not getting people pissed at them they feel like they're failing. If everybody is getting along then they must find a way to trigger their hate, especially if it is directed at themselves.

read somewhere that a good analogy for Trump voters in particular but the Klan surely fits better, is the Hells Angels and their knowing they are "losers" in societies eyes - they know they won't ever achieve what we call the "American Dream", they feel alienated and know they are despised, so their answer is to pull the whole smoking mess down to the ground, watching it burn with glee and loving the horrified reaction of "normal" people. They're already social outcasts, so why not go all the way and be fully hated outcasts? The article referenced Hunter S Thompson's book "Hells Angels" while making that point and I think there's a nice comparison there although I will say, I personally have more respect for the Angels than the Klan, but that's just personal preference - the two in so many ways are very much alike, at least in their rhetoric.

I think political correctness has been twisted into some of the most effective propaganda among the right. I remember when I used to be on the road a lot and I listened to a lot of AM radio. The Limbaughs of the air would only take a break from wall to wall Clinton hysteria to set up another "political correctness run amuck" strawman. This has to have had an impact because the whole idea of out of control PC thought is so much more pervasive than I remember it being in the 90s. I feel a lot of the brainless contrarianism rampant among the right is reactionary behavior based on decades of this idea that that they are under attack by people less powerful than them.
