Working Class Elephant Heroes

You can never be certain what will go viral, and why. It can surprise you.

This second article definitely goes under the category of "she MUST have done something."

Authorities said it had strayed from the Dalma wildlife sanctuary, nearly 200km from Mayurbhanj.

After being trampled, Ms Murmu was taken to hospital where she died from her injuries, police officer Lopamudra Nayak was quoted as saying to the Press Trust of India news agency.

Reports said when family members gathered for the funeral and were in the middle of performing last rites, the same elephant appeared, lifted Ms Murmu’s body from the funeral pyre and trampled it again, as shocked mourners looked on.

So this elephant walked TWO HUNDRED KILOMETERS just so it could stomp on this woman's corpse AGAIN?!?
I don't know what she did to that elephant, but she DEFINITELY deserved it. Whatever it was.

In the Land of the Blind, the One-Eyed Man is declared mentally ill for describing colors.

Yes Virginia, there is a Global Banking Conspiracy!

@The Liberal Moonbat
Going viral is way overrated.

Thanks for sharing a fine example of mutual respect between species. We need so much more of that if we’re going to ever rehabilitate the planets’ essential diversity and reciprocity. Without it, we don’t really have much of a future, do we?

I posted this here and most people are indifferent.
Then I posted this on reddit and this is the reaction.

@gjohnsit It's something always in the background of our minds. How do we fight back? The black humour of it strikes a chord, but then what? Bring thousands of combat trained elephants here and storm....what?

All my life I thought I was making decisions, supporting causes that would help make things better. Right now it feels like running in a maze not of my making that steers me where those in power want me to go, while our rulers flit and float above it all. A recession here, a NAFTA there, a police atrocity in Georgia, an erosion in trust and news that contains no truth.. Run that maze, get that electric shock, never get the cheese. It's my fault, Right? Didn't work smarter, didn't try hard enough. Feature, not a bug.

because someone had trampelled or did other things to her baby elephant kid?

My niece in Goa (india) had such an experience and ran for her life to get out of the way of a furious mother elephant.

Anyhow, just a memory that came up in my mind. One should respect the elephants for their memory.

and return to Abraham Lincoln’s thoughts about relations between labor and capital…

Labor is prior to and independent of capital. Capital is only the fruit of labor, and could never have existed if labor had not first existed. Labor is the superior of capital, and deserves much the higher consideration.
