Even after Jones gets past getting certified as winning the Alabama election over an accused Trump endorsed child molestor, will he face prickly situation in DC?

Nah. He held up a Supreme Court nomination for months.
McConnell also botched the 2am tax bill with errors that pissed off big donors while crushing Senate norms in the name of speedy passage, wouldn't put it past him to delay seating newly elected Democrat Moore.

They held up Franken taking his senate seat
for 6 months, solely out of politics. Demanded recounts, fought it out up to supreme court, plus appeals, just to delay, delay, delay. Expect Schumer to be all chicken little ineffective. Unless he gets all bipartisan*.

It will be harder this time (not saying they won't do it anyway - they have no shame) because Franken only won by ~300 votes, Jones won by 20,000 votes.

Last week, he was asked whether he supported Roy Moore and whether Moore should be seated if he won. "Let the people of Alabama decide" was his typically spineless response.
OK. Seat Doug Jones immediately. That's what is done in a special election. Besides, the people of Alabama have spoken. Right?
Except that it interferes with Spineless McConnell's plan to enrich the rich. So Mr. Jones will just have to wait until Mitch is good and ready. What's more, McConnell has never had to pay for his lying, duplicitous actions.

According to NPR Conyers has retired
His statement was that he was retiring Tuesday, so I'm thinking that was 12/5 and now the governor of his state has to call a special election for him.
On a side note, he has been in congress since 1958. I think that spending over 58 years in congress isn't a good thing.

FWIW, heard the Alabama Secretary
of State (John Merrill) in several interviews today.
The 'holdup' is due to his office having to certify the results.
For instance, absentee/military ballots have to be examined in order to ensure that all votes cast were for an eligible (by their State Constitution) individual.
IOW, they have to cull write-in 'protest' votes, such as votes for Mickey Mouse, etc.
Merrill did say that he didn't believe that they was any way that the results would change.
