help me out here, please. i'd been collecting a few tweets this morning to put together for a diary entitled 'small blessings coming for julian assange?', and i'll (and others like it) that i'd found as i worked my way down the account. now i don't now what shadowbanning amounts to, but it sure sounds bad. adding to my confusion is the usual way i find wikiLeaks on twitter from my 'most visited' dropdown on firefox lands me at this web address:

today i must have already been on cordelier's account, and used the 'find more accounts' at the top right, and ended up here:

https://twitter.com/search?q=%40wikileaks&src=tyah

now i might be just gaslighting myownself, so see what you think, say what you know, suspect, etc. please:

but back to 'small blessings coming for julian assange?', and here's hoping that it doesn't turn out to be the most gruesomely ironic storify title on the planet...

People are asking us if we shadow ban. We do not. But let’s start with, “what is shadow banning?”

The best definition we found is this: deliberately making someone’s content undiscoverable to everyone except the person who posted it, unbeknownst to the original poster.

We do not shadow ban. You are always able to see the tweets from accounts you follow (although you may have to do more work to find them, like go directly to their profile). And we certainly don’t shadow ban based on political viewpoints or ideology.

We do rank tweets and search results. We do this because Twitter is most useful when it’s immediately relevant. These ranking models take many signals into consideration to best organize tweets for timely relevance. We must also address bad-faith actors who intend to manipulate or detract from healthy conversation.

This is, of course, bull shit. They are banning anything that is anti-establishment. When you can ghost ban a Congress person, what does it say?

Can they grant him citizenship and demand to take him back to their country?

I sure hope Assange finds a way out of this at least as good as what he helped Snowden to get. What Obama and Trump are doing to this man ought to be against the law. Instead of 7.5 mil retirement mansions and trips to Mar-a-Lago, they should be holed up in solitary somewhere.

the bs by twitter execs. dunno about ocasio, as i'd hardly think that by now she's anti-establishment, but a rising star.

on edit: oh, you'd said 'some of her tweets'. dunno; her account is quite lively.

but i do regret not having noted what i'd discovered this morning:

on this direct web address for wikileaks, the most recent retweets are dated dec. 16, one by this by jeffrey kaye (torture and mkultra), and one by caitlin johnstone on the same date, but on this alternative account, the tweets began on dec. 19 (from my storify, although now some (i'm assuming) pinned tweets are dated dec. 17.

can the 2 german MP's grant him citizenship, etc.? i'd think it would be up to their equivalent of our state dept., and it wouldn't be likely. but they could make a case to that dept. head. i'm embarrassed to say i don't know much about germany's government.

Hoping that there are many people keeping an eye on the Ecuadorian embassy. But then what could people do if they decide to remove Julian? At least they will witness it happening. I hope.

i wish i could have found the 'livestream' that's over, in order to hear what they'd collectively reported. but so few show up for vigils in front of the embassies, i dunno that there could be any sort of schedule for 'watchers, witnesses' possible.

and given the past 'grab teams' in cars on the street, the scaffolding that's still in place allowing anyone in, say a potential assassin as when julian's own trip wires woke him, and no security was at the embassy...it's hard not to be flipped out.

caitin j.'s expansion might have been a longer echo of what dkmich had brought, but to say the truth...i hadn't been able to absorb it. i know there was a video, though, can iget credit for seeing that? j/k. whatever comes next, i'm happy his papa got to visit him; what a reunion that must have been; brings tears to one's eyes, no?
