The Numbers Are Still Coming In: Hillary Won, but Millennials and 3rd Parties Gave Us Trump
I responded to that diary:
You know, at first I was trying to be polite. But lately I’ve really come to enjoy dragging this out every time one of these narcissistic, entitled, smug, and insulting diaries comes out.
If I helped do this then good. That means I was, in part, successful. It looks like I’ll be working hard to do it again in ‘18 and ‘20 also. I wonder how long the party of corporate shills can drag it’s battered, bloody body down the road before it just gives up and dies.

I've got a dear friend who posts on facebook. He knows some people don't like Hillary but isn't clear why. He asks for links but then doesn't believe them. If you tell him about how she got filthy rich off of speeches but wouldn't tell anyone what she said and then it turned out she said she needed two policies, one public and one private, and that she said....I mean if you go through the whole list it turns out if you don't have a signed confession then "Hillary did nothing illegal". But he believes people voted for others because they're misogynistic...even if they voted for Jill Stein.
And he believes Krugman's insane claim that the FBI and Putin colluded to throw the election to Trump.
Too bad about this election. It's really made me wonder.

They lost because the collective ego of the democratic bubble is the size of a dozen small countries combined.
They decided they knew best when all polling of independents said otherwise. They selected their flawed candidate and proceeded to attempt to shove her down the collective throat of the american voter while issuing what sounded a lot like threats. If someone objected they called them names and told them they weren't needed. Now they wonder why they lost. Frankly I feared Clinton more than Trump. Just based on that. Seemed like free speech was only free if Hillary agreed with you.

My voting preference was Sanders -> Stein -> Trump -> Hillary
Partly it's the arrogance of the Democratic party. But in larger part it was because I saw Trump as less likely to engage in militaristic adventurism and no matter the reality of Trump, he represents the anti-establishment sentiment in many of his voters.
A lot of wanderers in the U.S. political desert recognize that all the duopoly has to offer is a choice of mirages. Come, let us trudge towards empty expanse of sand #1, littered with the bleached bones of Deaniacs and Hope and Changers.

Good. Could not be more delighted they are being this blinkered. The DSA are surging in the Bay Area. The Democrats have demonstrated they cannot, they will not learn. There is 50% of the total electorate (VAP) that did not vote or did not vote for big two. Half of them are to the left of the Dems. We activate some of that, add it to the left that holds its nose and votes Dem and we have a plurality in a three way race. We can use the first-past-the-post system to our advantage for once!

While they have a point that Bernie was not fought by Trump and may have suffered for it if he had been, still he would have started with higher numbers than She did, since he won all the head to head polls during the primary. Also, there is no proof that he would have lost. We do have proof that She lost. So Bern had a better chance, even if he didn't have a 100% chance of beating Trump.
