Warren interview

I saw the Elizabeth Warren on Rachel Maddow the other day and noticed something odd. Among other things, Warren praised Clinton for being a "fighter"; for not giving up despite all the forces massed against her.

Uh, isn't this exactly what they are criticizing Bernie Sanders for?

I do not pretend I know what I do not know.

Maybe this is more 11th dimensional chess, where she has to pretend to go along with the establishment but she's really fighting for us on the inside and is just waiting for the right moment to spring real progressive change on them...

No, not really.

Endorsing Hillary is a betrayal of everything that she's ever stood for, and the only thing that's unclear at this point is whether this is an unmitigated power play driven by her own self interest or she's simply doing what she feels is right in the face of Trump, consequences be damned. Regardless, it shows that her supposed "principles" are all talk and like the rest of the Democratic establishment, she stands for absolutely nothing.

It pisses me off that I donated to her Senate campaign and would have supported her if she had shown a little backbone and jumped into the race herself. I'm really sick of getting betrayed by these people.

Watch the Clintonistas bring up this meme again after

  1. her VP nominee
    her Cabinet appointments
    her post-inauguration policies.

Just like in 2009.

There are known knowns; there are things we know we know. We also know there are known unknowns; that is to say we know there are some things we do not know. But there are also unknown unknowns – the ones we don't know we don't know.

time and again, HRC has stated that the one trait she values the most is resilience. She has repeatedly said that her mother, the only person in the world who ever had it tough, taught her that when you get knocked down, you get up and fight again.

Apparently, it is not okay, though for other people--oh, say, like Bernie Sanders or his supporters-- to be resilient. Obviously this is just one more example of her double talk that is not backed up by actions.

that universal, positive traits actually only apply to Her Great Wondrousness.

The rest of us are just a global population of hopeless, ungrateful losers. Especially Bernie Sanders.

It's her brand manager's futile attempt to humanize Her. To remind us she had a human mother at one time and she's had such a hardknock life requiring resilience, just like the little people, so we empathize and vote for Her.

I have always thought she and I had the same reptilian brain. The reason her pant suits are so baggy is that she has to tuck her tail in.

I think she is much closer ideologically to Bernie in lots of ways than she is to Hillary; but somehow, something else has caused her to endorse Hillary. I am disappointed in her, disappointed that she is not willing to go with Bernie and his millions of supporters in advancing a progressive agenda.

Some have speculated that there was a higher office offered to Warren if she would only endorse Hillary. I dismissed it initially, but now I am having second thoughts. We shall see.

Another theory has been floated that Warren will be the VP nominee on the Hillary ticket so that when Hillary is indicted (and later convicted), Warren will be right there to take over the top spot while Hillary gets what's coming to her.

I don't know why Warren endorsed Clinton. It was after the race was for the most part over. I would certainly hope it isn't for the VP spot. I have worried that that is exactly the plan, as Warren as VP would basically muzzle her. She is of much more use in the senate if she truly believes in what she speaks. But if that is the case, endorsing Sanders would have made much more sense. We can all speculate, but the one thing I do know is: none of us have to work in that environment. I'm reminded of Jon Stewart's interview by David Axlerod where he talked about lobbying congress in supporting the 9-11 first responders. He said not only was it worse than he imagined, it was far worse than he imagined. There's a lot more going on than any of us know or will ever know, so we will probably never know the answer. But I did lose an enormous amount of respect for her. I sorry, but Clinton represents many of the things Warren is supposedly fighting against.

And as for the email? Nothing is ever going to come of that, I don't think. But, if/when Clinton is elected, that will be the very thing the republicans try to impeach her for.
