Two Weeks Into The New Job And A Vacation...

Just 2 weeks into the new job and it's time for a $3M Weekend Getaway to the Mar a Lago Luxury Resort in Palm Beach Florida. While the accommodations and meals are paid for by the president himself, the Trumpanzies believe the 75 year old billionaire is entitled to enjoy the "Fruits of His Labor"are having trouble grasping that the $3M Weekend Getaway is actually what the taxpayer costs are estimated at. Air Force One has about a $200,000/hr operational cost, in addition the motorcade vehicles are flown in on board an Air Force Transport Plane, additional vehicles and security for the airport and resort will be in place prior to his arrival, with Secret Service there in advance taking care of security details, then there is the Secret Service and Staff traveling with the president as well. The former Birther In Chief, now Commander in Chief is well aware of the costs of his 1st Presidential Vacation having scrutinized presidential vacations in the past...

Oh the irony or I wouldn't have even said anything...

His over the top personal spending habits are going to cost the tax payer. Combined with all the tax cuts he enacts for rich people, we will have a huge deficit. That will be followed with another round of entitlement cuts for the poor and elderly... and they call him a populist

America has elected a King.

No, it hasn't. No King, at least none available to living memory, ever treated his nation's ordinary people with Drumpf-order disdain. Seems they (the surviving Kings) learned the lesson King Louis XVI paid for with his life: that a King's principal job is to stand up for his ordinary people, to protect the small and lowly against the mighty, wealthy, and powerful.

Fuck, if I had a choice between "President" Drumpfenfuhrer and actually electing King Arthur, I'd unhesitatingly vote for the latter!

for least time spent in the Oval Office? We may see even less of him than we did of the Shrub - which may not be an altogether bad thing, as when he's off on vacation he's only plotting mischief, not actually doing any.

Unless he leaves his underlings the keys to the country... (shudder)

Report: 8 years of Obama vacations cost $85 million
WASHINGTON

As America’s first family enjoys its eighth and final vacation in Hawaii, new estimates put the price tag of the Obama's annual trip at $3.5 million or more.

In total, the cost of the the first family’s personal or largely personal travel during the last eight years comes to $85 million – though that is likely to climb to $90 million after additional records are released, according to the conservative group Judicial Watch based on federal government records.

The cost of Air Force One and other government planes as well as helicopters, cargo planes, armored cars, Secret Service protection and advance, communications and medical staff has led Judicial Watch to push for less personal travel.

“The Secret Service and the Air Force are being abused by unnecessary travel,” Judicial Watch president Tom Fitton said. “Unnecessary presidential travel for fundraising and luxury vacations on the taxpayers’ dime would be a good target for reform for the incoming Trump administration.”
...

Fat chance that will happen.

Fiscal conservatives are forgetting that the President has no choice about all that expensive folderol attached to any movement (s)he may make. Those security arrangements, every one of them, are mandatory! Only Congress can reduce their cost, as it was Congress who imposed the requirements to begin with.

Were the laws in question simply changed in two ways -- permit the President, as Commander-In-Chief, to determine the appropriate level of security for any given movement; and specifically designate a "light travel" set of options for purely private travel -- and more than half of the complained-about expense would go away.

Our President is neither criminal nor prisoner (at least by law!), and (s)he should not be. (S)he enjoys the same rights of free movement the rest of us do, and should. Any expense faced because of the office is a just and rightful expense of that office, and the conservas should just STFU about its expense. Our President is the most powerful single human on the Planet, and that fact carries some expensive baggage with it -- will or nill the rest of us.

like so many Americans under the gun with unbridled capitalism's gun to their heads, yet their hero runs out of town after two weeks on the job. Most people from those parts of the country that gave him their allegiance won't take this so kindly. But they'll find excuses because it's still early.

Wonder how they'll justify this one though. Watch the RW media get into action and come to the rescue, I'm sure. To tell these folks they don't perceive what they know is true, that maybe this guys is just another sleazy, rich man playing them for pawns. You know, he's all tired out from all that signing of executive orders trying' to make 'Murica grate again. Yeah, that'll do it. It's hard work harassing all thum godless libruls trying' to ruin our way of life and disrepectin' are flag, police and soldiers, god bless 'em all. The Don, our hero, the great tv celebrity, telling' it like it is - they're all after him 'cause he's trying to bring back this country.

Celebrity worship, TV brainwashing and Worship The Rich mentality (a misguided manifestation of the purposely elusive and falsehood of the "American Dream") contribute to the inertia that keeps the duped masses from rising up against this rotten and corrupt system.

Apparently poor people have too many entitlements, and rich people don't have enough of them. Surely President Trump is entitled to live in the style to which he has become accustomed. While we the people are entitled to gaze in wonder and awe at the lavish rewards of America's free enterprise system. Oh lucky us.
