"TRUMP WINS MONEY FOR YOU!!"
I can't resist. This is going around in the right/libertarian blogosphere,
"TRUMP WINS MONEY FOR YOU! Look What He Just Did To The Air Force"
The article "trumpets" the Trumpster's amazing success at saving YOU money! His railing about the cost of the F-35 program paid off in spades.
Here's the CEO of Lockheed Martin, Marillyn Hewson:
"I had a very good conversation with president elect Trump this afternoon and assured him I've heard his message loud and clear about reducing the cost of the F-35. I gave him my personal commitment to drive the cost down aggressively. I know that president elect Trump wants the very best capability for our military at the lowest cost to taxpayers and we're ready to deliver!"

"The article ends with this little gem:
"You won’t see Barack H. Obama doing anything like this. He didn’t save us any money. Trump isn’t even in office and he is seriously helping drive down our government’s cost on a major scale."
NosireeBob, you won't see Obama doing anything like that, that is true. But maybe they don't know that the defense/war budget will get spent anyway, so we really won't be "saving" any money. And maybe they aren't aware that Trump wants to greatly increase the defense/war budget to fight 20,000 ISIS mercenaries the United States has helped create and manage, so he's really going to cost us money. And maybe they're aren't aware of the promises Trump made to Lockheed Martin, a key cog in the military industrial complex, the same military industrial complex most of these libertarians usually rail against. And maybe they don't know that the F-35 is still a piece of shit that will require enormous sums of money to maintain. Ya, look what he just did to the Air Force.
Or maybe they just like Trump and hate Obama, kind of like those who like Obama and hate Trump. And that's all they can really see. Same thing only different.

Deja vu all over again
Way Trump could "Save" money...
1. Bring Everybody Home.
2. Put Soldiers to work on infrastructure at home, thus converting DOD spending to domestic spending.
He does those two things, I will be surprised that he's actually doing what he said, and will revisit my opinion on him.
You don't save money by making vague promises.
I do not pretend I know what I do not know.
There would be dancing in the streets.
Won't happen though. Trump wants the biggest military ever assembled. That's one thing he said I actually believe.
let's see now ...
Navy's got the Zumwalt
Air Force got the F-35.
God! I hope the Army don't got no new super expensive tank.
We won't have any working defenses at all, short of nukes!
(Those still work don't they, I mean, they wanna spend a lot on those too I hear.)
Just think what that 0.09%-$70 million in Food Stamp fraud coulda been used for!

Ya, that's Obama's baby, the nuke WMD
modernization program to the tune of One Trillion. So every country on earth will know the thousands of nukes we have will really, really kill them.
It was John Anderson I think
in a 1980 debate said of our nuclear capability (to paraphrase)
'We posses the ability to kill every man, woman and child on the planet 17 times over! I think 2 or 3 times should be sufficient.'
I voted for him that year, full knowing that Minnesota was not going to vote for Reagan and that Carter was going to lose anyway. I'm lucky I've been able to vote my conscience on occasion without causing harm.
Now that nukes are a reality, I'm inclined to think that a well maintained deterrent is wise.
However, this Trillion Dollar modernization program appears so far to me, to be an attempt to make the use of nuclear weapons more palatable and geared towards 'The Winnable Nuclear War'.
Let's hope faux news can find 0.09% fraud in THAT program and agitate to get that program ended!
