True, but the Chair has been advised to not engage.

So we'll have to leave it alone.

Subject: Bernie narrative

Wondering if there's a good Bernie narrative for a story, which is that Bernie never ever had his act together, that his campaign was a mess.

Specifically, DWS had to call Bernie directly in order to get the campaign to do things because they'd either ignored or forgotten to something critical.

She had to call Bernie after the data breach to make his staff to respond to our concerns. Even then they didn't get back to us, which is why we had to shut off their access in order to get them to finally let us know exactly how they snooped around HFA's data.

Same was true with the standing committee appointments. They never got back to us with their names (HFA and even O'Malley got there's in six weeks earlier) for the committees. So, again, the chair had to call Bernie personally for his staff to finally get us critical information. So, they gave us an awful list just a few days before we had to make the announcements.

It's not a DNC conspiracy, it's because they never had their act together.

        [emphasis added]

SOOO the "National Communications Director for the DNC," who was not shy about helping to write Bernie Sanders hit-pieces, decided to say NOOO to this one -- even though he agreed with the storyline (just pitched by the DNC's "National Press Secretary & Deputy Communications Director" ... Par for the course, of course.)

The reason being: "the Chair has been advised to not engage." -- Which begs the question: "Who is doing the advising?"

Perhaps this next exchange, between these same two highly-place DNC-officials, will shed some light on that question about who had the "final say" on the DNC's various "attack strategies" ...

[PS. The context implies "TPs" are "Talking Points" for 'TV vamping' ] ...

SOOO there you have it. The DNC Communication Directors (and by implication, "The Chair") were are least in part, taking their "Marching Orders" from the Hillary for America organization (HFA) -- IF these 'insider email addresses' are to be any guide.

And OOOH how much it must have stung the DNC Chair, to be the 'dutiful soldier' and face the world, to 'put a happy face' on that "Awful List" of Sanders nominations, for the Democratic Platform Committee:

[...]
"We are delighted to bring together this talented group of Democrats," said DNC Chairwoman Debbie Wasserman Schultz. "These individuals represent some of the best progressive thinking from across the nation. I am confident that the members of this committee will engage Americans in a substantive dialogue of ideas and solutions that will inform our Party Platform."

SOOO "delighted" to be 'falling in line' -- for the sake of "party unity" we are left to presume, given the subsequent "happy themes" of the Democratic National Convention. (Remember those cut-away to Bernie's non-existent smiles?) Happy Days are here Again!

And SOOO, about those 5 "awful" Progressive names, that Bernie Sanders nominated to the Platform Committee [to counter-balance the remaining 10 picked by the DNC/HFA voting block]:

• James Zogby, a longtime activist for Palestinian rights as well as a DNC member and official,
• racial justice activist Cornel West,
• Rep. Keith Ellison of Minnesota, among his most prominent elected backers,
• author and environmental activist Bill McKibben and
• Native American activist Deborah Parker.

Just an "awful list" according to the Communication Directors of the DNC. No doubt one that they would have gone on to besmirch and smear the individual characters and intents -- IF "higher authorities" hadn't intervened, to "advise them not to" ...

Just "par" for the so-called "democratic" course ... where "equal opportunity" was had by All.    (So long as, it is HFA-approved opportunity.)

Well, it's not a shock at all, but how very disappointing. The DNC fucking sucks, man.

I'm glad I'm not a member anymore. They don't deserve cool people like us. Smile

Thanks for the great reporting, as always, jamess!

of a "democratic" institution.

If it wasn't for the "stated goals" and "stands" on principles, they would be next to worthless.

Of course, their "follow-through" on those goals and principles is often "lacking"
as these looks "behind the curtain" clearly show.

Thanks Shiz for the feedback.

Yeah, OK, that's better. Smile

The cartoon vomit face just makes me laugh really hard, because it's not gross, it's actually cute. I don't know how to explain it. My Bernie friends do that face on FB whenever we talk about Hillary.

I also think framing "the problem" as the left v the right is not only a waste of time but is exactly what creates these myopic cheerleading parties that censor any legitimate discussion about what TPTB are doing to us under the party loyalty banner.

Instead, if we could only come together with what we agree on like getting money out of politics and making sure our votes are counted through a transparent election process and build a united front to fight these assholes our chances to create a non for profit progressive party would be much stronger. But, hey, what do I know? I'm just a tax paying citizen

Mark Paustenbach is seen referring to an “agreement” with Politico’s Ken Vogel to let the DNC pre-screen one of his stories before they’re sent to Vogel’s editors

Collusion with media was obvious as all the "bad, bad Bernie Bro" stories were appearing in clusters at about the same time as Bill Clinton was condemning Bernie Bros. Still, seeing it confirmed in black and white is nauseating.

Speaking of media collusion, establishment media is still framing this as Russia interfering in "U.S. elections," rather than the DNC and establishment media interfering in Democratic primaries.

neoliberal pillars keeping late stage, war mongering, monopoly capital afloat. In my view, the non profit online sources like Truthout and Truthdig and Juan Cole, are more accurate and confront the real world in a more meaningful way then the Times or the Post or what I've learned about the content of NPR and the cable and regular tv channels. (I don't own a tv & don't listen to radio news). Hell when the World Socialist Web Site - Trots! - do a better job of dealing with global worker issues than the rich and powerful establishment, then things are about at the bottom(and sinking).

And it is also why I have been working with an organization to STOP fast tracking the TPP. But that's a more involved topic and one that I'm working on getting my thoughts down in writing. So, I guess more on that later..

is why I continue to blog (research, analyze, piece together, comment on)
some of the vital issues, that our National Media tends to ignore.

(even though in some of my more selfish moments, I ask myself:
What's the point, Where's the reward, isn't 9 years of doing this enough?)

Then there's THAT catch, that non-monetary reward,
that gets me back in the writer's saddle again and again:

"An informed public, is a motivated, and hopefully a more-empowered public."

Such is the siren call of solitary "bloggers" like us,
we refuse to give up the "Good Fight" ...
even when TPTB keep getting their Citizens-United way.

We have become citizen journalists for our sphere of influence. And I'm not sure what bewilders me most at this time, the accusations that I'm crazy, or the blank stares when I try to have an actual conversation about what is going on in this election.
