Them Russians Them Russians

America you don't really want to go to war.
America it's them bad Russians.
Them Russians them Russians and them Chinamen. And them Russians.
The Russia wants to eat us alive. The Russia's power mad. She wants to take
our cars from out our garages.
Her wants to grab Chicago. Her needs a Red Reader's Digest. Her wants our
auto plants in Siberia. Him big bureaucracy running our fillingstations.
That no good. Ugh. Him makes Indians learn read. Him need big black niggers.
Hah. Her make us all work sixteen hours a day. Help.
America this is quite serious.
America this is the impression I get from looking in the television set.
America is this correct?

- “America,” by Allen Ginsberg

Is this correct? It is if you watch the liberals on TV these days, especially MSNBC.

Convoluted and labored, Maddow’s narrative tried to make major hay out of a report from Moscow that a high-ranking Russian intelligence official had been dragged out of a meeting, arrested and charged with treason. Weirdly, Maddow kept presenting that barebones story as verification that Russia’s President Vladimir Putin had directly ordered the hacking and release of Democratic campaign emails in order to get Donald Trump elected president.
It was a free-associating performance worthy of [conservative talk show host] Glenn Beck at a whiteboard. Maddow swirled together an array of facts, possible facts, dubious assertions and pure speculation to arrive at conclusions that were based on little more than her zeal to portray Trump as a tool of the Kremlin. Even when sober, Joe McCarthy never did it better.

“The strange sight of liberal America participating in a neo-McCarthyite assault on Trump appointees, not on the grounds of their inherent racism and stupidity, but because they have contacts with Russia, is among the more surreal spectacles of modern political history… the result of this new Russophobic hysteria is to create a precedent for the CIA and even more shady and shadowy forces to unseat an elected President…common cause is being made with the worst actors in American politics.”
- playwright John Steppling

To be fair, it's not just MSNBC.

RT tracked down the alleged Kremlin trolls, who appeared on Samantha Bee’s show claiming they were paid to meddle with US election – just to find out they were hoaxers who tricked the American TV crew into paying them for appearing on Full Frontal....
“The Russian government has office buildings full of trolls, disseminating pro-Russian points of view in comment section all over the internet,” Bee said in her show.
Despite “Full Frontal” only being a comedy show, many US outlets, including The Entertainment Weekly and The Huffington Post, presented the story as real news.
But Bee could’ve done a better job verifying her sources, as RT easily tracked down the people she interviewed and learned that they were just hoaxers who led the host into her own trap.
“We heard that there was a request like that: they’re looking for internet trolls, hired by the Russian government,” the young man, who appeared in the "Full Frontal" clip, said.
“Because they couldn’t find any, and we were sure they wouldn’t be able too, we thought: ‘OK, we’ll pretend to be trolls.’ So we did. And she fell into her own trap.”

Allen Ginsberg, where are you when we need you?

There is no such thing as TMI. It can always be held in reserve for extortion.

I'd put on a mask and be a troll for that kind of money.

Boy the lame stream media lives up to its name!

Here's a more rational conversation...

Col. Lawrence Wilkerson tells Paul Jay that from the expansion of NATO to the Western-led plundering of the former USSR, the US has given Russia enough reason to feel threatened. (12 min)

Regardless of the path in life I chose, I realize it's always forward, never straight.

I posted a link to this thread as close to the top of that thread as I could get.

As far as Maddow, her salary has been reported as $7 million a year. That explains a lot, from the undermining of Sanders, while claiming to be a liberal, to the false eyelashes.

Wanna know how much political commentators who oppose both the Republican Party and the Democratic Party make a year? Donations, if they're lucky.

Maddow has become a caricature of herself, but a rich caricature.

However, I am sure she is not being paid to be boring. And she is. She drones on and on. She is, however, a good interviewer. If I were her producer, I'd make sure she had guests wall to wall. Then again, she supposedly has the best ratings in cable TV news, so maybe it's just me.

@HenryAWallace mentions his views are nearly comparable to Maddow's. His resources are not nearly as great as hers, and considering few people, and less all the time, get their info on cable news, highest rated newscaster doesn't mean much.
Then again, I don't know Jimmy's criteria. Total views or just YouTube views? I'm guessing a lot of Maddow's views are YouTube.

An article on Global Research is still valid

Most Americans know very little about Russia, and what they do know is subverted by many decades of U.S. government anti-Soviet and anti-Russian propaganda. From 1917 to Dec. 26, 1991, when the USSR imploded, Washington depicted the Soviet Union as an immoral aggressor state seeking to destroy capitalism and freedom in the United States and rule the world. Again, from the early 2000s increasingly until today Russia is depicted as a pariah state and danger to the U.S. and its allies.

Or Dailykos for that matter? Ha ha! Same same.

Samizdat: I write it myself, edit it myself, censor it myself, publish it myself, distribute it myself, and spend jail time for it myself.

Because why not?
