Standing Rock: Water Protectors Continue to Stand Firm
Until the Dakota Access Pipeline is stopped, there are close to a thousand water protectors who have committed to remain at the camps at Standing Rock. And if you're able-bodied, self-sufficient, and unafraid, you are invited to join them now.
Sacred Stone [camp] is not closing. We will be standing, and we ask you to continue to stand with us. All of you are welcome to my home and my land.
You are welcome to come back to stand with us.

Two more powerful quotes:
We have started something we must complete. That is the healing of our nation, the healing of our people. . . . I’m asking you to continue to stand with me, to continue to stand . . . for everywhere our water flows. Please stand. We are now just beginning this fight.
I will not back down. I have no other choice. . . . It is time for all the nations to be healed
Another Lakota leader, Chase IronEyes, echoes these sentiments. The following video (9:23) was recorded in DC last weekend. He speaks about the situation at the camps and addresses the "eviction" notice from the tribe beginning at 4:39.
I don't understand the strategy [of vacating the camps now] of what the tribe is doing. We all want the [Highway 1806] bridge open, but why not offer to move the camps after the blockade is gone?

IronEyes also had his Facebook account suspended because he is advocating resistance.
Resistance in Canada
This story is about ten days old, but it's still encouraging. Vandals used heavy equipment to pull a chunk of pipeline out of the ground in northern Alberta
'It is believed a piece of construction equipment was used to dig up some of the pipeline, which caused severe damage to the pipeline,' said Grande Prairie RCMP Const. Michelle Mosher.
The pipeline was still under construction and nothing was spilled.
I'm entertained by the newspaper's use of the term "vandals." I might have said freedom fighters, water protectors, brave activists. I hope they post a youtube so everyone can learn how they did it.
Do What You Can
Move your money. Defund DAPL reports that almost $53 million has been withdrawn from banks that finance the pipeline. http://www.defunddapl.org/

"The justness of individual land right is not justifiable to those to whom the land by right of first claim collectively belonged"
How long before the US is declared a rogue nation?
1] Threatening its own people for profit not need.
2] Threatening economic war with another country because it wont pay for a wall that is not needed.
3] Threatening to reinstitute torturing as a policy.
Well I suppose even after our illegal and unjustifiable wars were not enough I don't know where the line is any more.
Who has the authority to declare that?
The prosecutor from Spain was bringing charges against Bush and Cheney until Obama told Spain's government to stop him.
The USA has been guilty of war crimes since the Nuremberg trials which stated that its the ultimate war crime to invade any country that hasn't threatened another.
But since those laws were created, this country has ignored them.
The one thing that countries can and should do is not joining forces with us in all of the illegal wars.
NATO was created to stop another Hitler type person or country from doing what this country has been doing. But instead of doing that they have joined with the USA in their illegal wars.

aren't they great?
I love listening to them, and to other strong leaders. When I get scared for the water protectors, I remember all of the folks on the ground who keep saying they're not afraid.
IronEyes is worth following on twitter too: @ChaseIronEyes

Thanks blaze
TYT had a nice interview with Chase too.
Nomiki Konst from TYT spoke with Chase Iron Eyes, former U.S. Senate candidate from North Dakota and active leader in the fight for clean water at Standing Rock. (13 min)

And I thought this was an interesting interview too.
Jordan at TYT talks with Anthony Rogers-Wright, an environmental activist and former adviser to Senator Bernie Sanders during his presidential campaign, about President Trump's presidential memorandums and executive orders on Dakota Access Pipeline and Keystone XL Pipeline. (10 min)

He says on his Twitter that he is not selling the song, but if you like it, you can support A Tribe Called Red. And I would add that if you like it, you can support Prolific's legal fund. He's facing serious charges (felony for "endangerment with drone") for his activism at Standing Rock. https://www.paypal.me/nodaplprolific

I'm seeing comments on conservative websites
that say the Natives are only protesting because they weren't offered enough money for the pipeline to go through their land or that the land where they are putting it isn't on Native land.
So many people approve of the violence from the cops and the private mercenaries and don't realize that this type of violence can happen to them one day.
It was the same with OWS and the BLM.
There were problems with running a campaign of Joy while committing a genocide? Who could have guessed?

You are such a wise pooch, Snoopydawg!
part of the disinformation campaign
Those kinds of posts and comments (the tribe turned down money, the tribe didn't show up at environmental hearings or let their objections be known, the land is not theirs, the water protectors are violent) are directly from Energy Transfer Partners' and Morton County sheriff's playbook.
All we can do is push back with actual video, actual words, actual evidence. And I always ask pro-pipeline folks for proof of what they're saying (and press releases from ETP and the sheriff don't count)
And you are right: these tactics are the same as those used against all social justice activism. It's how you know you're making a difference.

I am not sure that they are being paid to write this
There was a mayor of a small town in southern Utah who didn't like that the BLM closed a road to ATV type vehicles and got 10-15 people to ride down the road on them.
Most people were in favor of his act.
The amount of stupidity from the commentary on my local website is staggering.

Blessings to the water protectors and to you, blazinAZ, for
keeping us informed and for posting the links. This is the only board on which I post. However, I am hoping Caucusers who post on other boards will post the the links on those boards as well.
Thank you.

Thank you for the links for contributions
But do you have a street address for the Support the Medic + Healer Council? I've tried to contribute about three times and can't seem to get through.
Just want to repeat here how irreplaceable these posts are as a gathering place and source of trustworthy news. It is so essential that the No DAPL and Native Rights efforts achieve genuine visibility, success, and respect.
sorry the contributions not going through
I don't have a current street address for any of these groups because there was such a mess in December with deliveries of packages not getting through.
I couldn't tell if it was a problem with the delivery services (USPS, FedEx, etc.) or on the receiving end, but at one point there were images of a warehouse filled with undelivered packages.
IronEyes and his group, Last Real Indians, stepped in at that point and made sure that all the stuff was distributed to the people on the ground, at the frontlines, But I've never seen a reliable street address since.
Thank you for reading about and supporting this struggle, Creosote. If I find a better way to support the medics, I'll let you know.

Thank you still again, BinA
I'll try to make a few phone calls and do a little more online research. This is such an increasingly important moment in a hundred ways.
amazon wish list
I'm not a fan of Amazon, but the Medic and Healer Council seems to be using it. https://www.amazon.com/gp/registry/wishlist/3JWEL4EF7YU5R?ref_=cm_sw_r_c...
I also see a request for Amazon or Lowe's gift cards (only those, since shopping choices seem to be limited), which should be sent to medichealercouncil@gmail.com
