Senate panel upholds finding that Russia backed Trump, contradicting House
This has been a day of cover-ups and false ‘findings’. Of course this is the Senate’s ‘finding’, not the one who is actually issuing subpoenas and holding hearings.

Senate panel upholds finding that Russia backed Trump, contradicting HouseThe Senate Intelligence Committee has unequivocally upheld the conclusion of the intelligence community that Russia developed a "clear preference" for then-candidate Donald Trump in the 2016 election and sought to help him win the White House.
The assessment, announced in an unclassified summary released Tuesday, represents a direct repudiation of the committee's counterpart in the House - and of President Trump himself, who has consistently rejected assertions that Moscow sought to bolster his candidacy through its election interference.
*
The committee says it reviewed "thousands of pages of source documents" and interviewed all the relevant officials who were involved in developing the ICA, from agency heads and managers to line analysts-and "heard consistently that analysts were under no politically motivated pressure to reach any conclusions."
A subtle difference in confidence between the NSA and the CIA and FBI on the assessment that Russian President Vladimir Putin wanted to help Trump's election chances "appropriately represents analytic differences and was reached in a professional and transparent manner," the Senate panel found.
In yet another contradiction to Trump allies claims, the Senate panel also found that a piece of Democratic-funded opposition research known as the Steele dossier did not "in any way inform the analysis in the ICA - including the key findings."

Well lovely. Especially that part about the Clinton Dossier.

How can anyone seriously believe that any foreign country would be allowed to have complete power over the president without something being done about it? I'm sure that if that were actually happening then someone like Mueller wouldn't take close to two years investigating it. Pretty sure ...

My point also.
The US has overthrown governments for less. We’re really expected to believe this president is being controlled by Russia and TPTB are just going along with it?!?

senate intelligence ?
Did someone say Senate and intelligence in the same sentence? Senate intelligence is an oxymoron on par with military intelligence, Republican compassion, and war for peace.
Would this be the same geniuses that declared Wikileaks a hostile non-state intelligence service? Bunch of maroons grasping for straws to maintain their charade, the real actual traitors.

So three of the 17 intelligence agencies actually released reports, derived from hand-picked "unbiased" sources that were only moderately confident of their conclusions about RussiaRussiaRussia collusion--and with no proof other than the efforts of 13 Russian trolls and a catering company. And Herr Müller can't even provide evidence in court about one of the companies whose US legal representatives demand trial by jury--and one of three indicted companies didn't even exist at the time of the campaign.

intelligence assessment
Amazing how they cover up (since no media coverage) it was an intelligence assessment which is the low end category, the next higher up category requires all dissenting views within the agencies to be presented, hence why they used the lower bar assessment category. I forget the terminology for the next higher level (which you think this would be if as alleged), but this way as just an assessment intelligence opinions disagreeing with the plan could not and would not be seen. As you say, it was all hand-picked to reach the conclusion desired, and kept at assessment level so no other professional informed view could be voiced, heard, or seen.
Hand cherry-picked conclusions does not make good science or politics.

I find nothing in this piece that suggests "Russia Stole the Election."
The suggestion, instead, is that there WAS (and might still be) a Russian cyber attack, and there was some tRump hanky panky in Dec. 2016, as "President Elect," that involves Russia, Putin and Bibi re. ISIS. Whether that's kosher or not.... who knows?

Oh my goodness.
Wheeler tells such a silly story. I can think of three stories in the past seven days (one about Michael Flynn) that demonstrate what self-important nonsense she spouts. She's been caught in a classic Munchasen Syndrome by Proxy dilemma. It could be an occupational hazard for her. And the mewling of her sycophantic audience! It is disturbing to read, although a few of them could not escape the gravity of their intellectual honesty and expressed their embarrassment for her.
While the FBI has no sense of humor to speak of, I cannot help but think they got a chuckle out of Wheeler's histrionics.

The Lavrov interview makes interesting reading
"Off with their heads, after which they can plead their case."
This new "evidence" of Russian meddling in electoral politics is about as potent as the evidence that Herr Müller has unearthed--i.e., nothing, nada, nichts.
Great research by the way to find this interesting interview, Pluto. I loved Lavrov's dissection of two "investigations" (of the Alice in Wonderland variety): Skripal poisoning shenanigans and OPCW rigging. It's all in the vein of "I could tell you but then I would have to kill you".
All 17 intelligence agencies agree that Russia interfered with
the election right? Nope. Not according to this guy. He discredits this statement that I keep seeing people repeating.
Former US Envoy to Moscow Calls Intelligence Report on Alleged Russian Interference ‘Politically Motivated
In the January 6, 2017 report Clapper admitted that he saw no evidence of Russian interference in the election. Funny though that people continue to say it. This is one of the Clinton Creature's favorite thing to say to this day.

snoopy, your two included links are great
Like leaving "subtle" clues in the code as illustrated from one link:
The first one should be required reading
As dystopian stated above this guy also says that any report that is to be taken serious would also include the agents that dissented in the report.
It's that 1/6/2017 report by Clapper that is the most often repeat lie about Russian interference. I just read it on another website.
"All 17 intelligence agencies agree that Russia interfered with the election.
This has been the way the false information has spread. The headline will say something definitive, but inside the article are tons of sayings that show that it is unverified information or sources believe, strongly believe, see evidence or, or some other words that show that there is no hard evidence that anything in the headline happened. But when people's minds are made up it will skip over any information that disproves what they believe. That is what we see in Clapper's report and the online articles that came from it.

Okay, I am a little slow, so bear with me
First, I am trying to figure out the definition of "meddled." I have read not read anything in all the articles published that actually defines this nebulous term, "meddled."
According to Merriam Webster here is how meddle is defined in the dictionary.
Is an outcome implied by the use of "meddled"? Is this the same thing as Hillary
meddlingcheating in the primaries in which there was a definite change in the outcome as a result?Okay, assuming Russia did meddle in the 2016 Presidential election, how did they do it and did it affect the outcome? Were the voting results in key states changed and if so, how was it done? Were voters threatened or coerced into changing the way they intended to cast their ballots? Did the Russians purge legally registered voters off the eligible voter lists?
Mueller has been investigating this for over one year and all we have to show for this multi-million dollar investigation is few meaningless indictments. What are our hard earned tax dollars going to in this investigation? Seriously, it is an insult to the American tax payers for Mueller to indict 13 ham sandwiches, literally.
So far, the only dirty tricks and collusion I have seen are from the Clinton campaign. Can Bob Mueller explain how Bill Clinton earned a cool half million dollars for a speech in Russia after Hillary approved the Uranium 1 sale? Oh yeah, how could I forgot that Mueller himself was involved in Uranium 1?
Do I hear the sound of guillotines being constructed?

Re: meddling
OK, I now know that the Senate report says Russian companies funded Facebook ads. And those companies have ties to the Kremlin. It is illegal for a campaign to accept donations from a foreign company or collaborate (collude?) with a foreign entity. You know, like Johnny Hwang. So if the Trump campaign actually collaborated with these Russian actors, yes, we have a criminal act. By the campaign!
It is well known that Trump has Russian business interests in Russia and that Hillary was virulently anti-Russia, Doesn't it make sense for a Russian business to try and boost Trump?
And how many US businesses that contributed to Hillary and the DNC have "ties" to the US government (i.e. defense contracts)? Does that mean the US government "attacked" the election? Or "meddled" in the election?
And why is the Congress investigating only Russian meddling? How about DNC meddling?
Those Senators should hang their heads in shame. But US politicians have no shame.
This is blatant McCarthyism.
EDIT: WGN news was just reporting on this as Russian attacks on the4 election and Russian hacking of the election results.
WGN is owned by the Tribune Broadcasting Company which is owned by Tribune Media Parent organizations: Oaktree Capital Management, JPMorgan Chase, Sinclair Broadcast Group per wikipedia. Follow the money.
I've never read the Los Angeles Tribune but it is owned through the same chain. Im sure some people on this blog have.
EDIT2: I was actually shocked to see how many channels are owned by Tribune Media. WAY excessive concentration of power. Can you say "monopoly"? I knew you could.

Watch this video on Tribune's anchors after it bought out

My Essay disappeared!
I'll try to reconstruct it.
Yahoo News claims that "In rebuke to Trump, key Senate panel endorses finding that Russia attacked 2016 election". Attacked! Is there anything like that in the senate report? Has someone read it? Do I have to walk back my skepticism? Did Russians actually try to alter vote totals or destroy records?

This goes with my comment about how the media misleads people
This is another thing that media does. Trump has been asking why Comey and the FBI never looked at the DNC computers and yet based their investigation on their statement that Russia hacked it. Russia Gate started right before Wikileaks warned that they had the DNC files that showed how Hillary and the DNC rigged the primary against Bernie. Instead of the media focusing on that little tidbit they attacked the messenger. How many times have we seen that ploy? "Quick look over there."
To learn who rules over you, simply find out who you are not allowed to criticize.

Nope
.
The only "Russia Collusion" here that is factual is: Hillary Clinton, and the DNC, and the FBI combining to fund and contract out a Russian Firm to fabricate phony charges against Trump ("dirty dossier"), along with FBI abuse of the FISA process, and then Mr. Bill Clinton receiving a whopping $500 Thousand dollars paid by a Russian Bank (hello?) for a mere speech --- just as he and Hillary Clinton and Obama and Robert Mueller (FBI) were selling off our Nation's Uranium over to ... guess who? That's right .... Russia!
They did it. That's your Russia collusion folks!
Also remember, that it was dirty CIA hack John Brennan who was the one responsible for the U.S. Intelligence Agency fabricated report that claimed multiple Intelligence agencies said Russia "interfered with" our Election. This was a biased report, and Brennan is clearly an anti-Trump CIA hack who engaged in dirty tricks to create the phony narrative that was used by Clinton/DNC and the Media to fool people into thinking that the Election was somehow "illegitimate". It wasn't (and don't bet against Trump winning again in 2020 either).
Meanwhile, Robert Mueller's phony case against 13 Russian nationals for "meddling in the Election" has totally floundered in Court. No proof, no evidence. And even the so-called claim made of using social media to somehow "meddle" with the Election is not in any way a crime to begin with. Social media by itself is not either tampering, or breaking any laws ... it is just free speech and noise. Was it that which make Clinton just spend all her time with elite fundraisers, and not even bother to get out and campaign in the battleground states? Of course not.
The U.S. Senate is just merely regurgitating the bogus narrative and claims coming from the clearly biased John Brennan CIA-Intel hit piece on Trump. But that will just be proven to be fake news, when all Mueller can do is harass a few former associates of Trump for stuff totally unrelated to voting, elections, etc.
Mueller, Rosenstein, Brennan, Comey have all been caught with their pants down here in multiple lies and abuse of power manipulations. But because of (corrupt) Jeff Sessions, no one is getting prosecuted. It's obvious the DOJ and FBI cannot "investigate" themselves.
